Modified Warhead Nanosuit texture that provides both sharpness and visual consistency with the rest of the game. Press 'Read More...' for more info and screenshots.
Improved Vanilla Nanosuit aims to fix blurry mess of the original nanosuit texture while preserving the general look and feel of the original nanosuit. I have tried every nanosuit mod I could get my hands on, and while many looked excellent and sharp on their own, when placed in the game world they looked unnatural and wouldn't fit in at all.
To solve this issue, I used Crysis Warhead nanosuit as a base and proceeded to remove sepia tones that didn't fit in with the color pallet of the original game. Result is sharp texture that fits in naturally with the rest of the game, finally ending my search for proper nanosuit texture.
Compromises compared to the original are as follows:
- General lack of color, as removing sepia tones of the Warhead suit ended up leaving it basically black and white, however since suit mostly uses only these colors it is not a big deal.
- First person arm texture from warhead is lower-res and generally looks worse than arm texture from original. Because of this, suit body and suit arm textures are separated into different files so you can use whichever arm texture that you prefer. Note that original hand texture might look inconsistent with the rest of the suit, but this will not be very noticeable unless you stare at your legs a lot for some reason.
- Helmet can be oddly reflective in certain situations, mostly in the cutscenes for some reasons. It seems fine in general gameplay. Probable reason for this is that helmet on your teammates uses different specular map, but I have no idea which one and I currently can't fix it.
