Conundrum will be an adventure-puzzle game, set in a mysterious Victorian-style library, that exists outside of time. Players will play as Cody Pieterson, a 24 year old man from the near future, who has become trapped inside the library. Through a combination of putting books back into their correct shelf location, and piecing together then inputting codes, players will work their way to the top floor of the library to escape. Along the way, they will encounter several historical figures, some good, some evil, with many of them having disappeared mysteriously, ending up in the library. Having progressed through the initial levels, players will then come face-to-face with the most evil of them all - Rasputin, the Russian monk who just wouldn't die. Play then becomse a race between Cody and Rasputin, with the monk attempting to trap Cody in the library forever, and Cody ultimately trying to prevent Rasputin from escaping and seeking revenge on the world.

The past month, has seen two of our members, Colin and Conrad, leave. However, this has been only a minor setback, as Joel has taken on Colin's responsibilities, and with the help of Playmaker, the team has decided to all pitch-in and do the programming. Here's what's been accomplished this month.

  • The texturing of Rasputin has been completed, with the texturing of Glenn Miller nearly complete, after some model improvements have been made.
  • The rigging of Glenn Miller is virtually complete.
  • Animation of Rasputin is continuing with motion capture.
  • Our armchair model has been replaced with a lower poly model.
  • The same has been done for our revolver, door, and bookshelf¬†models.
  • Work on a grand-piano for the 1st level, has been completed.
  • Remodelling of our sofa models is underway, so as to reduce the poly count, and speed-up game-play.
  • Our chandelier model is nearing completion, as is our high-backed reading chair.
  • The main menu of the game is virtually complete.
  • The GUI assets are under construction.
  • ¬†Construction of the opening 2 storeys (i.e. the 1st Level of the game), is now 5/6 complete.
  • Work has begun on the creation of Mini-Puzzles for each level of the demo.
  • Our website is still under construction.
  • And a video is in the process of being made for our Indiegogo campaign
