Conquest is a real-time, multi-player space warfare game that was originally written in RATFOR for the VAX/VMS platform by Jef Poskanzer and Craig Leres in 1982. It was the early predecessor to Netrek.

Decker was right. This thing is a monster.
If the conqoper for the server turns its flag on it can randomly spawn. And then go on a planet munching rampage.
For sake of playability, it doesnt destroy the planets. It bombs the armies to 0 and then leaves the planet surface a radioactive wreck. Left unchecked it will eventually empty the galaxy of any inhabitants.
To defeat it - well, you will have to go watch the TOS episode "Doomsday Machine."
The strategy shown in the episode is really how to defeat it.
