Commander Keen was one of the first ID Software's games. It was a side-scrolling platformer set in a kid, happy theme. The game was released as a shareware, and it became very popular (so popular that ID released six expisodes). The game can be edited using original TED5 editor (used by the makers to create Keen), and a few other fan-created tools and editors.

steam is charging five whole dollars for this, don't get me wrong its a great game its just that its old, shouldn't it be abandonware (free dead software)?
I loved this game in my young days, it's wonderful.
i dident exist in 1990.
i think they brought quite a few games of these Commander Keen Adventures. ive played about 2 of these games back in 1995 (when games still were Floppy discs) for my 386.
the gaming genre wasnt as good back then but was still good to play with our Dos/Win 3.1 games
Classics of
Wolfenstein (1st fps to evolve to what we see today)
Doom
Duke Nukem
Lotus Chellenge racing
Lemmings**
and the many thousands of Dos games that were made.
