Apocalyptic is a small top down survival game built in Scirra Construct set after a nuclear catastrophe, and most of the worlds population is wiped out. The player must build a shelter inside a building, and then collect resources to survive against zombie attacks and rival NPCs.
I've been working on ways to get a lighting system into Apocalyptic... and it's proving tricky. I've had to settle on a mask system, and then tweak it to give the illusion of "real" lighting.
I'm experimenting with a system that blocks view to items out of the players sight, however it's kinda ugly and I'm not sure it suits a game like this.
