It is 330 BC, and the 3,000 weary military units under your command face a fearsome opposing army numbering in the tens of thousands. You are David to your opponent's Goliath, even though you have ample resources and a multitude of units, buildings, and advancements on which to spend them - your enemy has more. Blood will be spilt on the battlefield and honor will be put to the test, as the courage and cunning of your decisions determine the success of your forces. Command vast armies and heroes from Alexander the Great's era. Triumph in epic real-time battles using formations, morale, and authentic battle tactics.

IMHO, it's really fine. Bought American Conquest recently and was a bit disappointed with its economic system and combat gameplay. Alexander seems very different, similar to AoE.

The game is available on The ISO Zone (http://www.theisozone.com/downloads/pc/windows-games/alexander-iso/) but installing it can be problematic. For some reason it stalls out after loading he second CD image. I had to merge both files into a new folder and run it from there in order to get it to work. As for the game itself, both the campaign and skirmish mode are a lot of fun. Also it looks great, at least if you're a fan of GSC's other work or 'isometric' RTS games like Cossacks or AOE.
