^^?? WHAT HAPPEND?!??! All i ever see is ''One team will be the bad guys and the other will be the cops!'' Everything has turned into a cs clone with "operation" as the title or a ww2 mods:(!!! plz people for the love of humanity! think of something original or 'think outside the box' if you will. Does everything multiplayer have to be 'team 1 vs. team 2, team 1 must do this and team 2 must counter-attack it' It is so annoying to see 50 billion mods like this:( Why can't there be only team 1, and they have to fight againts 50 bots to survive the map? huh? why?? And every single mod has like 30 planed guns?? whats up with that?! arn't 5 or 6 guns enough? must we have 30 different ways to kill someone? - Edited By operativex On Thu 26th, Feb 2004 @ 2:44:47am |

Get flamed and I'll delete the posts. Good to see other people are supporting the original idea way of things. I myself would like to make a mod where there is only 1 team, and bots on the other team. But bots have no idea of the 'attack'. Like a real combat senario. |

most mods will always consist of good guy bad guy .. which CS DIDNT really do first :/ But yes, there are not alot of original mods out there now adays -- Nothing. |

Check this one out: Granted it has two teams, but they are staggered. There will be about 4 weapons for the AR Marines and each monster will have 2-3 (though few actual guns). And it is more of a survival mod with a predator/prey type setup. One team tries to accomplish objectives (and no, not place bomd here or get these hostages and get them there), while the other tries to stop them through use of guerilla tactics rather than just running around head-shooting the other team. We also want to make the objectives have more than one solution, as to all people to choose the better way to accomplish the mission for the current situation. I know you said it was ambitious, but hey, that's the way to go right? But yeah, there are some people that are trying to be original in one way or another, and I'm with you. There are way too many CS clones and WWII mods out there. And though most people seem to be tiring of these mods, there are still those people who think a Doom3 CS mod would be so leet! -- "I'm the Robenator. Could some one make me a mod that is single player. I want it to be about a CIA agent name James Ryan. His mission to take down a terrorest leader bend on taking over the world. I agree that being ambitious is the way to go, but, for a mod team consisting of 10 people, it is ignorant to not know your team’s limitations. I see an unbelievable amount of noobs saying that their game will take 'full advantage' of the source engine, yet, can't map or code. Or some say they will have tons of npcs in their mod when game companies that have professional programmers working 24/7 and can only manage to make mediocre AI. These people fail to think "Hey, maybe this is not a good idea", instead, they think that anyone who disagrees is ignorant and don't know what they are talking about. There are too many kids fantasizing that they can make THE BEST mod ever with the best graphics and once a company sees his/her game they will buy it. They need to be welcomed to reality. I agree with you that an ambitous project for a small mod team may be difficult to accomplish. But I also think that with the new gen engines being targeted at the mod community, they will allow people to more successfully accomplish their goals at making the more ambitious projects and actually have some level of success. As for our mod, well I know it's a cheesy cliche but: only time will tell. if your new to mod making, don't try and start a huge project by yourself. First go join a mod team and get experience. |

Might think about that. The only reason I'm really trying something this big is because of the other founder (who has not yer registered for ModDB). He has a lot more experience than me. While he physically hasn't been on a mod team before, he's been with the entire modding/hacking/editing community for quite a while. Mostly roms though. |

If I like it, I'll get you to develop a more in-depth idea, then the team will put to a vote to use the idea, if we use it, you will be developing all aspects of the theory and help resolve in-game issues. i agree 100% with operativex how about just a knife and a pistol on the weapons then the team can spend more time on th design elements killin people in different ways gets tiring |

well you see I have had 2 good original ideas one no one will help me with so I kinda gave up and the other it said it was deleted because supposedly it was already taken even though I searched pretty much everywhere and I couldn't find anything even similar to it... stupid stuff happens to my mod ideas :/ --
