I'm fairly sure the companies wouldn't hestitate to pull a "Cease and Desist" for infringing on their intellectual property. --

What's that? I hear something... *the echoing screams of lawsuits* ...it's getting closer! Hurry! Hide this idea in the closet and run! RUN! |

It seems everyone is in agreement here: The companies would pull a legal lawsuit. It would be pretty cool to have a fan-made company, but you'd get a lot of hatemail and legal issues to deal with -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

well... a virtual games company itself would work... but not if you try to copy or remade work of suited companies... that's in fact a bad idea. |

they can't do anything, if you change the name...its all about the name, you also have to make your own models, maps and such n such, then it would be legal, because your not using their stuff...so change the name, make your own models and maps, and you should be perfectly fine.... -- snetErz.com - Web Design |

that in fact would work... after what i read though i undrstood it as trying to copy their game... copying is always tricky, even if you only do it as fan project. |
