Does anyone know what .mmod is derived from? I've heard its either Lightwave or Modo, but nothing is verified. Let me know if any of you know about this. thanks [EDIT] if not, then I would love to know if there are any extractors, converters or other useful tools to crack this file-type. I don't know why people insist on trying to be helpful or smart by posting a single link as if to say "duh, here it is." You come off smug, im sorry. I think it's rude, too; do you seriously think I haven't already googled this? That sort of .mmod file it's referencing is a "MacroModel Molecular Mechanics File" for the Columbia University of Chemistry. Seeing as how I'm on a gaming forum, in particular a "3D modeling & Animation" forum, I'd assume you'd've at least taken the time to read over that source yourself before posting it to my benefit, though therein lacking any at all. Maybe I was a little vague on my part, so I'll reiterate: Does anyone have any helpful or useful information of the .mmod file? It appears to be a uniqe developer export of a .mod file since it does contain 3d data and models. That's as far as I've gotten; to see whats in it, but extracting it is a different story. Im sorry if I came off rude but if someone is going to link anything, I'd assume first they would, as do believe they should, read it over to see if it is even relevant. thanks for tyring though, truly. I'm glad anyone answered. Edited by: SeCALPHA1 |

It would help to know where you got the file from - otherwise all anyone can do is guess. For all we know, it's proprietary. |

Another thing I had forgotten, thanks for reminding me; Battlestations Pacific. It more than likely is proprietary just as so with their ".mpak" files which contain the lump data. -- _________________________________________________________ |

.mmod is apart of another parent proprietary folder extension ".mpak" which I've found an extractor for; this is how I found the .mmod file. .mpak files are uncompressed zip folders, though again the extension is an in-house export. Sorry for my programming grammar. ".mmod" files hold model data or are the separate models themselves, I don't know. Edited by: SeCALPHA1 |
