Unauthorised mods making Help Wanted Requests Thread

Just a small tick that seems out of place, but why is it that mods that aren't authorised can make Help Wanted requests that appear on the front page? Almost every day when I bother to flick through them, it's always the same. Every HWR is coming from a mod that isn't even authorised (and thus could easily be a waste of netspace).

In the listings today we have these;

Firstly, surely unauthorised mods shouldn't be able to post a help wanted request until they have been authorised, and secondly, although it's a fair bit of work, surely there should be some level of control exerted over what is posted in the same manner as news posts to avoid gems like these from cropping up;

wow, I hate to just jump on the bandwagon but... Yeah, I agree with ambershee 100%.

is there a place here where people can ask for help on un-announced (hence don't have a website & can't be added to moddb) mods?

Curious. Must have been one of my off days.

I see no problem with unauthed mods creating HW requests, as long as they don't show up in rotation until we auth them. That way mods can have their entire profile 'ready to go', just waiting for us to rubber stamp it.

I agree with Shee, but Jackson's compromise makes sense to me. I think the frontpage rotation is what gets people pissed, cuz its taking up a slot that could be for an already sanctioned mod. Let them make all the HWs they want.

I don't think the Help Wanted section is supervised. ^_^

Nah, it's a free for all. Hopefully the next version of Mod DB will fix a lot of this.
