The 3rd one looks like the last time we had a snowfall up there. Great pic. I'll see the last one in Shaun White. For the 2 other they're great but too much fog. |

The new images are nicer, the huge yellow sun looks wrong, though. It looks too bright for the atmosphere (light fades from white to yellow, orange, to red) The second new pic has a really nice difuse lighting situation. It looks hazy and peaceful and the emptiness makes it a perfect background. Why don't you use those for 2D-3D combinations?
The great thing about it - it gets the values right, colors fade well into distance and I can create perfect terrain for my drawings. The next step will be to paint over this picture, staying within the same values. You can really finish them beautifully in Photoshop. (I advise some post production on that large sun image of yours) And here's "Mars after Terraform - still fucking boring" ~ half an hour practice. Very nice program - instant satsifaction Edited by: SinKing |

These are very good considering they are your first ones.I recntly found a program called World Machine that allows you to make much more varied and detailed terrains and then imprt them to Terragen. You can download it here.I also found a good tutorial. Edited by: Ratchet66 |

The thing that I don't like about Terragen renders is the waterline always looks horribly fake - Terragen doesn't model erosion, and waterlines will never look right without it. Infinity has the same problem, but Infinity is forgivable due to the real-time awesomeness of it all -- "lets say Portal is a puzzle game, so its a rehash of Tetris" |

I used to know a guy by the nick "DVL-IAC" who would use terragen to make skyboxes for his maps ... They always looked pretty damn good ... |
