Hello moddb, I know that this idea has been thrown around a lot, but I haven't seen many people directly take on a project adding new regions to skyrim. From what I understand, there aren't any people working on this...

So, what do you all think about expanding Skyrim to Tamriel, it' quite the ambitious project, but I'm really looking for opinions here for the most part

+ If anyone knows of a team who are attempting this project, could you please direct me to them? I could probably make statics/armor/weapons

Uggghhhhh *my head hurts* what is with you damn Bethtards lately. Look the reason WHY no one is doing it is because Oblivion/Morrowind Reborn took almost 10 years to get even to the state its in now and even still its not even finished. Its too much work to do it so don't bother. (same goes with Multiplayer.. don't bother.. there's a reason why Battlespire flopped).

If you want the entire of Tamriel, just play the damn first game Arena.. it has all of the provinces.

's a nice idea, and IMHO, many would be positively surprised to see such mod released. Though it's rather doubtful that such a project could take less than a few years to make, at least a well polished one.

These are your models, how experienced are you?

It may take a huge load of work to develop a giant mod like that.

It's a good idea but... too much work and I think no one would have the patience to create the entire Tamriel...
Technically, I'm working on a fictional island that is going to be implemented in the game world but, has nothing to do with The Elder Scrolls story or anything...

My newer stuff is way better +statics would be simpler to make. I think with a large enough team working on one region (maybe morrowind) we could finish that, I'm not necessarily talking about all of Tamriel

thats a bit better, so long as it doesn't go down the morroblivion path (because that'll get you into trouble with Bethesda/Zeni). I'm not agaisnt a morrowind mod for the game, this would be fine, it'd still be time consuming but its a lot more feasible than what your initial suggestion was.

You can just take one game and put it in the other game. Simple!

that was the idea all along- i didn't make it too clear in the original post :P

I'm terrible with the editor though, so I need someone who can do that. I'm also up to ditching some old projects and putting time into this to make models+textures. I will certainly need more artists and coders for this as well as !!!VOICE ACTORS!!!, but I'd love to get into a project such as this.
While this is on the drawing board, I also don't plan on using any external content as morroblivion did. Yes, that will most likely take time, but I have a fair share of time this summer to get started on some statics.

Ambitious projects like this usually don't even start development a lot of the time, and I fully understand the odds of this actually taking off, but this is beginning to look like a possibility to me, and like I said, I'm willing to put in the work and effort.

Step one: make a team. If any of you can or know someone who can help, don't hesitate to PM me here or on steam (fancyman). I'm serious about this project and want to see it through 100%.

And I have good reason for not playing arena, one being that I want to see new areas with the full beauty of Skyrim's engine, and as amazing as Arena is, it isn't filling that gap for me... *though it is better than most modern games and it has a great feel to it*

Beyond Skyrim is going on, what is happening there is multiple teams are tackling each province. Might be something to look at.

Overuse of sub-forums much lol.

Actually, I'm thinking of starting fresh, I would rather be the mod-leader, seems illogical, but I have good reason.

A project like this might seem daunting but I think it could be possible. It would require insane amounts of man-hours but it could be possible. What would be interesting would be to see a massive team consisting of individual groups, each focusing on an individual province. You would need an inhuman amount of volunteers and really good communication between teams, but I don't see it being impossible if you gather enough unified support.
