the idea is to have the "Community Rating" as a criteria when someone is filtering mods |

Not going to happen, people abuse that system enough as it is. Thanks for your input however. --

I agree ! Much easier to filter away the crappy mods. It should be rating + the number of votes. Example: If one game has 10 in rating, but 2 votes, and another mod has 9 but 10 votes, it should be higher. -- 1. Syndicate Black Ops |

I.e. abuse, e.g. rate down rival mods/games for no reason at all, giving them rating of 1. And yes, there's an example of such behaviour, too, in the very community. Edited by: feillyne |

People keep asking for this and the answer will always be 'no'. People treat the voting system as some sort of popularity contest enough as it is. It'll be a million times worse in future if it is changed. |

Perhaps a rating system with a review only. Based on gameplay, sound etc etc, each section is noted on and rated, and then it the project is given an overall score. Ratings will have to be authorised first by mods and checked for any obvious trolls. Or perhaps could set up an offical moddb reviewers list, who specifically rate projects based on honesty and experience. Tho I admit this one means some projects may miss out because they havn't been reviewed yet and all the ones that have end up at the top. Edited by: Tetsuo3 |

That's quite an awesome idea, and seemingly well-thought. Though regular ModDB users should be able to review games/mods too. Their reviews would have to be checked by a member of the staff nonetheless - and that requires time that official DesuraNET team is running out of right now. |
