How about Quake for HL2? The whole story line and every thing, but for the HL2 engine. Imagine the great graphics for a great (yet old) game! |

Nope, besides weve got Darkplaces for our graphical needs (per pixel lighting, etc), let Quake improve itself. Valve may do a sequel to Deathmatch Classic thogh. -- < insert subject games here >

Fine, spoil sport! I'm sure other people are interested. Although I will say now I will not be involved in any way in the making of this mod. If some one else wants to do it fine, but I will not help in the making of this mod (if it is made) at all. |

You dont need to recreate Quake, there are already some teams that did the episode 1 textures over at hi-res, the quake monsters at high polycount, with new skins, etc... a HL2 port really isn't needed. -- < insert subject games here >

We've got Tenebrae to cover Quake. And we've got plenty of retexturing and remodelling teams working hard. Besides, there's no storyline for Quake to recreate. --

Thanks for that CheapAlert. Yes, those stencil shadows in Tenebrae kill my framerate like anything. In fact, any stencil style shadow kills my framerate. Damn GeForce 2. --

No, NO QUAKE for HL2, Ever! Play Quake with the source ports and model packs Q for HL2 is a very dumb idea really. No HL player even likes Quake or bothers knowing about the new stuff for it ALSO, Generations q2 was canned by id because it was too representative of Quake1 and Doom, and it'd be mostly the map designs - Edited By CheapAlert On Fri 2nd, Jan 2004 @ 7:06:23pm |

Good thing you said that Neo, or else I would have. Besides, the fact that Quake is on an older engine, gives its a whole feeling that only it has. Putting it on a different engine wouldn't do Quake justice. |

Tenebrae, bah. Stencil shadows are not worth their framerate yet. DarkPlaces has them (optional) plus lots more, especially in the world of QC addons --
