Hey there,

My name is Blaze Ferguson, 26 and working out of Austin, TX. Looking to fill a spot for a 3D Prop/Character artist. I've become quite efficient with a lot of the low poly modeling but take a little more time with the highpoly models due to sculpting for the normal maps.

Looking for serious groups only and credit for the work that I put in. Seems fair :D

What I can offer and have experience in:

- Concept Art
- Hand Painted Textures(my preferred texture style)
- Photo textures
- Low poly modeling
- High poly modeling
- User Interface design
- Environment art

Interested in learning:

- Advanced Lighting
- Rigging

I'm looking to get some more experience and teamwork within the Game Creation process. If interested, please send me a PM or reply here with all the available data. Local groups are more preferable, but not required. I am HUGE on communication and would like to at least speak with the group or art director over the phone to bounce ideas and to be a little more familiar with each other! :)

- E-Mail: blazef@gmail.com

Thanks!

How capable are you of working with more 'realistic' artwork (especially with respect to textures and visual style, less so with the actual content involved)?

Nov 17 2010 Anchor

Well that really depends on what it is. A lot of the realistic textures primarily rely on photo reference. Basically, just graphic design at that point for more photo real textures. I used to only do graphic design for quite some time. It's not as enjoyable as hand painting textures, but the outcome looks great :) ...so in short, I'm capable :)

I disagree enormously. Manipulating photographs is not usually the best means for producing a realistic looking set of texture maps. In any case, you'd need to (largely) hand draw textures for the project I have in mind.

I very much appreciate those interested in utilizing me for your projects. I'm going to knock out a small mod for a group right now. Once completed there I will be looking for other work. If you're still interested by the time this has been knocked out, I'll be contacting you.

Thanks everyone :)

~Blaze

@Amber I understand your argument entirely. I've just had an easier time when doing some of the more photoreal textures due to breaking each piece down by element, filtering, layering and some texture brushes. This is what I'd found easiest though.

Yeah i will still be interested by then
