Please stop auto-creating shortcuts | Locked | |

I try to keep my start menu and desktop as uncluttered as possible. So no applications get shortcuts on my desktop, and all games are in a "Games" folder on my start menu, and games that are run via clients (Big Fish/Steam/Desura) have no direct shortcuts to the games cluttering things up. If I want to play a game from one of those services, I just start the client that needs to start anyways and start the game from there. So, I'd like it if Desura wouldn't auto-create shortcuts on my start menu at all (this is how it works with Steam). It would be ok if it were at least like Big Fish, where I can just delete the shortcuts it creates and they never come back. But with Desura, every time I start the Desura client, all the game shortcuts get re-created in my games folder! It's terrible! So bad that I will not buy a game on Desura if it's available anywhere else because I hate starting the Desura client and having game shortcuts suddenly reappear in my start menu that I've deleted a gazillion times before. MAKE IT STOP PLEASE!!!!!!!!! |

I've said this before. I'll say it again. ModdB needs a dedicated Desura forum area. |

No, I meant an actual category for Desura. Like Cosmos, and Suggestions. |

No, I meant inside ModdB forums you should have a special catagory for Desura queries and feedback and discussion and stuff. People create lots of threads about Desura, but they get lost among general banter and technical and stuff. |

A subforum as a link to desura.com/support should suffice. Other board scripts have such a function - instead of redirecting you to a list of threads, asub-board can be just a link redirecting to a specific website. Edited by: feillyne |
