Ok, this was sparked by the I, Robot thread, so meh. Anyways, this is for talking about sci-fi junk 'n stuff. I really like Asimov and Hienlen. They wrote a lot of philosophical stuff, not just sticking with the horribly cliched "Space 'n Aliens 'n Stuff". They wrote social commentaries on humanity. That's why I love 'em! BTW, have any of you experimented with writing sci-fi? |

Sci-fi? Mission Interplanetary (don't remember the author) and Dune (Frank Herbert) are classics and they are great. I like 50's, and 60's science-fiction stuff, and damn - the descriptions in Dune are one of the best I've seen. Just look how the author shows every aspect of the world where the action is placed - religion, wars, history, sociology etc. It's awesome. And Mission Interplanetary was interesting too, the storyline keeps thrilled. Wait, did you mean books? lol |

Philip K. Dick's stories have fared pretty well in modern times, serving for the basis of many acclaimed movie adaptions. --

I like the Warhammer 40,000 novels, they are all from different authers, but still pretty good. And I have heard good things about Enders Game, even though I did not like it I have still heard good things and yeah, is it books only or can we talk about movies too? (I vote no tv shows, they suck too much) because I want to talk about the chronicles of riddick movie |

i really liked the Rama series, it was great. I also read all the star wars books, but i wouldn't always call them sci fi. I also used to read star trek, but it was sorta, bah. Orson Scott Card is a great authur too, love enders game and most of the sequals. I read some of his other works and they were good as well. |

Ender's game had... Sequels? Ugh I can only imagine how bad those were. But then again some secuells are better then the origianals... |

they actually sequals with ender suck in my opinion, feel like a whole different series. Card also wrote a parrel novel, Enders Shadow, which is Ender's Game through the eye's of Bean, the kid smarter than Ender. There's also another novel, Shadow of the Hedgemon, that takes place after Ender has left. Bean and Peter are the stars as the world erupts into war. |

I like watching some stuff on the Sifi channel. Mainly Star Gate SG1. -- "I may not know anything but at least I am smarter then 90% of the people out there." I just killed another form topic just by posting in it "It does not smell like it is going to kill me"-My Brother |
