Hey guys, I recently downloaded and figured out how to model in Blender, but what I couldn't wrap my head around was: How to model gloves Me and a friend of mine are working to model armors and such, and I would greatly appreciate if any of you helped me figure out how to make a glove. |

Have you tried searchinf for a tutorial about hand modelling... Look at how they modl hand in maya, xsi 3ds max... The buton you press dont have the same name but they pretty much do the same thing in most case. Study the workflow/ pipeline and you transpose it to blender. Btw im assuming you already know how to model Edited by: casf01 |

Eh? What kind of special knowledge does modeling a glove take? If you know how to build shapes out of polygons (=modeling) then you can model anything. EDIT: I'm good with Blender so I was actually looking forward to help someone but your question is just pointless. Edited by: shadowflar3 |

Thanks, the whole time I was searching for glove tutorials rather than anything. Stupid of me not to think of searching for hand tutorials.
Well, I'm sorry but not everyone is as smart as you. xD |

There are several methods, you can make use of. If you already have a body model, you can simply extract the geometry from the hands, scale it up along the normals and build onto that. Another option would be to retopologize the hands first and then detail it or sculpt on the hands and do a retopo then. Just do some basic modeling, retopo and sculpting tutorials for Blender and check out Sculptris (freeware) and ZBrush as well for later tasks. And don't let ppl discourage you. If you need help without crossing ppl with a big ego go to polycount forum, 3dtotal forum and other pro sites. Would do that anyway, you can learn a bunch from them! |
