modern combat mod fatal scar error/won't update Thread

hey, i got the modern combat mod for company of heroes. when i get the start screen asking for update i click yes but it says file cannot be created. it will let me run the program but whenever i start a skirmish it says fatal scar error.
i am running windows 7 64 bit
company of heroes gold, downloaded from gamersgate.com
did not buy on steam
running original coh, plus gold edition downloaded after
C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\company of heroes
please help, thanks
note i have been running the the nhcmod, though i have click on a separate .exe file to run it

My own blind guess would be to make sure you have the latest version and are running everything as an admin, but I'll leave the answers to the people who actually have the knowledge for this. Best of luck.

As Cryrid guessed, you need the latest patch. Had similar problems with CoH, the in-game updater didn't work, the version i bought on direct2drive (now Gamefly) wasn't fully patched.

You need to install every patch since there's no cumulative patch. Relic Entertainment made patches available through torrents here: Cohpatch.relic.com

There was a guide somewhere what patches to install for the gold edition but can't find it anywhere now.
