Van't you think of sometihng more original, and have much more to the idea than "hey we'll create something called this, we need a big team".

There's a thread on how to start a mod properly pinned up

Ok. so exactly what does the mod intail? It is tactical or is it fast paced? How many teams are there? Are there teams? Is it single player or multiplayer? What kind of sound artist do you need? Just SFX or music too? What other positions are open as well? Will this be on Half-Life 1 or Half-Life 2? Do you have webspace? Are you able to run a mod? What happened to spongebob? What can you do? Have you actually created a mod before? Do you have a few years to dedicate into a uncreative mod idea? Do you have something to make this creative or will it be a basic game with no interesting features?

I really think you need to sort things out and use a bit more intelligence when posting advertisements for your mod - Like 'Capitals' and 'Commas' and other such punctuation. Also...who the hell are you? Don't start off a post for a mod outlining the failure of your last mod - especially if no one has heard of it.

Oh yeah...your welcome for the time I spent reading and replying to it.

Well I will say several things. One is I find people flame to much on this forum. There is nicer ways to tell someone they need more detail. I always give people a hand when they atleast try ( I have coached some aweful people at modding in the past simply becuase they would try).

But could we get some detail on your mod.

Also for modding or game design that isnt to big of a team. Mine is over 30 people (4 of which are paid positions).

Over 30 people isn't a small team :P

It is understood what you are saying about flaming. But there is a difference between flaming and the truth. As well, If this guy seemed to have put any effort into it, I would have given him a hand too. Moddb is a place for community support, not hand outs, so don't just come in here and start preching to us about how to treat people. I agree, there is A LOT of flaming in the forums...but in the same respect, a lot are just honest opinions. It is those opinions, in all of their crudeness, that sometimes give the person the dose of reality that they need to get their act together.

This is the perfect example to no effort at all.

You must be the most lazy person i have ever met.

Sit back, get a pen and paper, start writing idea's that have nothing to do with copying someone else's, AND THEN LEARN HOW TO MAKE A MOD YOURSELF.

People will join your team, if you take the time to make a decent looking mod with some originality.

WTF batman.

Get a real idea.

Yeah, If you fancy the idea of paying people to make games, get a job as a publisher or something. Modding is TEH FREE. I reccommend learning to use a 2D graphics package like Photoshop or something so you can at least make textures.

I hope I do not come off as rude but you do seem to not know what you are doing. And let me give you a hint, no one joins a mod team who's leader has no idea what he is doing. (My first mod went out that way) And no one will join the mod for some one who will do nothing to help it. Even if they do get paid.

Apr 27 2004 Anchor

a) Help wanted section
b) You havent presented a coherent design or detailed description of what your modification is about
c) Why dont you do something completely original instead of using published material?
d) Less flaming or I close this.

Why wont it save me?
