The whole Game commenting system is absolutely going wrong.
My problem is, that i already call this site here NoobDB, little kids around here asking stuff without using google first - and
on most of any game page, there is someone who says "best game ever".
OK, maybe the person's opinion, but when you do it the other way, and say on the page of a game that an other game is better, your comment will get buried down some days later. This should not happen.
Many people know me as a Half-Life mod developer, they actually think that it is my favourite game and such.
Wrong of course. I tested it out in several situations, and the summary is: faggotry.

Welcome to any internet website with a large population. If you think the general level of intelligence with regards to comments here is pretty low, try spending some time over at Youtube or Facepunch for a while.

Its indeed not a Moddb problem. Allow user interaction, and then you get that problem. And as Ambershee said, other sites have it MUCH worse (especially youtube). Facepunch has it highs and lows :p

Ehm, OK. I agree, there are some very annoying people/comments/threads here from people within a certain age range. That's how the internet works though. Just.. get over it ;)

Not to mention a certain site starting with '4'.

Unless you watch political/news videos on YouTube. Depends on the section. Wouldn't count on videos under the "entertainment" categories, unless it's music (not video gaming) videos with mature fans. Anyway, humans are humans, one shouldn't judge just by their intelligence level. ;-P

Well what do you judge them on then? Their looks?

Do you know what they do 24 hours per day, maybe they're brilliant in other things or simply don't know English to converse more intelligently?

Anyway, the intelligence level of um, comments can be pretty low, on the other hand, if somebody asks (even for something he could find using a search engine), one can simply answer him thus getting rid of him - and of the whole problem in the process. A little kindness. And you can always add an advice to search through a search engine the next time. Being impolite is a different matter, and is tackled differently from giving a little assistance. ;-P

Presuming that people have nothing better to do than search Google on their behalf is impolite in my book.

This way some people will never learn to search though. If you keep giving such people all the answers even when they could've found them very easily they will keep coming back with other easy to find questions, either because they're lazy or because they've never learned how to search for answers by using search engines.

So if answers are easy to find, what's the problem? You can give them some assistance spending relatively little time. How can you know whether the guy you're helping will get somewhere some day? Maybe he'll succeed in doing what he does (by accident) and somebody else (e.g. a certain community) profits from it, even if he still wouldn't know how to search for simple answers?

Well, you never know. Maybe a little kindness will lead him to something more reasonable or he'll give something back, thus be more intelligent, helpful, etc.

And yes, it may seem impolite to ask for such silly and simple questions. Then, we should keep a bit distance, and avoid all-emotional reactions to other's attitudes.
