Today,I've purchased my first DESURA game,ARMA: GOLD.But I could not find a manual link to download it as Steampowered.Ignoring manual is necessary or not,I think every game should have a PDF manual like we buy this game in retail box with a paper manual. So do it,DESURA. |

I'd anticipate that just like a retail box, including a manual is the resposibility of the developer, not the distributor. |

i'd rather see a physical manual, PDF ones are cheap imho (unless of course you're getting a discount, which you don't). I was always under the impression that the manual was done by the publisher instead of the developer. One of the "perks" of the relationship. Manuals today are crap though. Fallout 1/2, Mechwarrior, etc. THOSE were manuals. Even Smash Bros for Wii has a better manual then PC games today. EDIT: most PC games today don't even have a paper manual, just a piece of paper or two with some basics on it. Duke 4 Ever's manual was installed, the "thing" you got in the box was worthless. Or developers should get a wiki on desura, where they publish their manual. Edited by: Xunil |

Should be nice if "selecting a game" and "pressing right click" on desura, an "alternative" option called "Manual" be displayed, of course, only if the developer have uploaded a manual, if is a web manual, a browser should be display that, otherwise, if is a PDF, the main pdf reader should be open, on other otherwise xD, if there is an "application" manual (an application who works as manual), should be open. |

I just got a free old copy of "Lords of the Realms". It contained a CD, a map of Germany, a general gameplay manual, a combat specific manual and a final manual detailing any change that occurred between disc printing and the manual printing. All made in the USA. Sure is a big change now for the "bang-for-buck" ratio, etc? 1994 gives you a disc, a box, three manuals and a map for $50. 2011 gives you no box, no disc, no manuals, no maps, all for $50, then takes away reselling or giving it to a friend. And, odds are, a good chunk of your $50 is going outside the country. -- Go play some Quake 2: q2server.fuzzylogicinc.com |

I buy games, not manuals, discs, or boxes. I find the game bits to the the enjoyable part, at least for me. Tutorials in games have improved, maps in games have improved, and some games, like Mass Effect, have excellent repositories of information on everything in the game. Most of the information that used to come in manuals is now available somewhere in the game. Wikia is infinitely more useful than any manual that might be included. In 17 years the price of games hasn't gone up but we lost the stuff that takes up space? Fine with me. |
