Counterstrike Source Additions Thread

This may be just farts in the wind but I think it'd be cool if spectators could be random civilians in CS Sourc, you know a child, a housewife, an arab merchant. It could give a nifty dimention for the teams, or just give them something to do other than watch.

Also, I never thought there were enough character skins, weapons or radio commands. I mean what kind of counterterrorist unit doesn't have a grenade launcher, and how come terrorists don't get old school bazookas -

Flash bombs - how many times have you been flashed because you thought a nade was eminent. Flash bombs should have a different call.

Finally, I think it's silly not to be able to hear radio commands if you're on the other team. Someone's speaking aloud - the opposing team should hear it. A nice way around this is by adding physical signals to the speach, and having an ability to just use the hand or motion signals without speaking.

What do you think of another race, it's kinda boring to see just Arabs vs. Americans. Maybe we should include North Koreans and Chechen rebels....or Terrorists from durkadurkastan.

An entry grenade launcher would be nice, and so would the flashes and being able to hear voice commands.

I'd also add more tactical maps to that list.

Well the race thing is a little off topic but I like politics so here goes - race can be any ethnic group with some kind of blood kin, clanship, or common cultural identity, so that pretty much puts Arabs as a race in my book - Just like Slavics, Anglos, Francos, Jews, Turks, Chinese, Persians ... As far as North Koreans, I'm not exactly sure, I've never met one. Perhaps I was out of line saying they could join up with the Terrorist forces -

All I'm saying is that the 2 teams can have more skins than type A Counter Terrorists and Type B Terrorists.

If it makes you happy though, I will add "The Japanese Win" to the sound effects.

On that note, I gotta say I think people like the bright maps better than the dark ones. I don't know what it is but they always have way more people playing on Dust and Italy maps than anything else. Just a thought.

If you mention virtually any idea you get flamed. Just make the mod then talk about it. Otherwise, dudes who sit on their asses and flame and do nothing else will do just that

Good mod ideas that are well presented don't get flamed.

Bad, unoriginal ideas presented like a shit omlette get flamed.

How about making a third faction called civilians. This could add a whole new element to the game. The civilians hate both the Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists.

concerning the ideas... CS:S is so crappy and has not changed one single inch since the version i left (because it became such crap it's not funny anymore) that even those additions would not make it fun anymore.

about nade-launchers: if you are a CT in a hostage situation using 'nades' is a rather dumb idea.

using different calls for nades wont help much too. 99% of people don't know what shouting is for and the rest talks shit in their micros all day long you will not hear anything else.

adding civils could add, but if you make them hate each fraction it becomes rather dull (3 team DM).

There are already regular grenades you can use no matter what the situation. I just think the game has always needed some cooler weapons.

the civils thing is not my idea...I'd rather have everyone team up AGAINST a third class - hmm like Aliens...or Collosal Rampage Mutants...
