My apologies if this was answered previously, I couldn't find anything. Can you post addons/mods which have been publicly released but for whatever reason are not on this site? Credit will be given of course. There's a couple mods for Deus Ex Invisible War that I had trouble finding so I want to make it easier for people to find them. |

Why don't you just do it? Since you'll credit the creator(s) and mods are purely non-commercial ventures what bad things could happen? Afraid they are gonna sue you ? Edited by: SinKing --

Double check the readme's but in general you can. I remember some mods/content that said they are only available on certain sites. But just check the readme. -- Go play some Quake 2: q2server.fuzzylogicinc.com |

As SinKing said, there shouldn't be any problem but well - you should always ask creator's permission first, nonetheless. So you would have to contact developers first. You are posting somebody's stuff at your own risk - if an artist is okay with that then it's ok (even after posting) - if he has a problem with your use of his material then you have a problem as well. |

What if there is no information in the readme and the author has not been heard from in years? |

Then you do that at your own risk. So it's not recommended to put it up, but nothing may happen anyway (as far as noncommercial content is concerned). But perhaps you need to remember that original works may be still used by the author in his future commercial projects, when mods are converted to games etc. (however improbable that seems). Depending on the game it was made for, odds are the author was more concerned about getting it spread around vs being a copyright freak. IE there's tons of Doom/Quake stuff around that has invalid e-mails, websites, etc. The authors don't care. -- Go play some Quake 2: q2server.fuzzylogicinc.com |

I'm not worried about the developer getting angry, I just wanted to check if there was a rule on this website. Thanks for the help |

Well I sent it in and got an email saying it wasn't approved, without a specific reason |

Chances are you never added media, so it was closed. What was the game? --

Deus Ex Invisible War. It's possible, but I did have the pictures so I'm not sure if they just didn't upload properly or what, but I find it kinda silly that I have to redo the entire form and submit it again... I don't really have the time or desire to do it |

You do not have too I can just give you another three days however you need to understand you have to meet our media requirements. If you are too lazy to update the profile maybe it would have been better not to do it in the first place? Either way let me know if you want more time and I will give it to you. --

by media requirement you mean the 3 pictures, right? Yeah, sure. But if you're saying that the page has to be updated every so often then no. I don't see why I would have to update a mod that isn't mine, but I'm guessing that's not what you mean. Edited by: HDremakeEVERYTHING |

That is more of a suggestion on how to get the most from your profile we do not enforce that. Three images is all we require. --
