what would you guys say if i disabled HTML tags 100%, so you couldn't use them in your news etc..?

are they really needed? you can pretty much do everything with mdb tags really? i'm just curious because they are causing me problems and i'm considering taking the easy road and disabling them 100% because they are barely requried or coding in a solution to let them work...

??

Perhaps. We don't want abused style tags breaking everything. HTML tags are big and cumbersome, anyway.

Yeh, and the HTML screws up the layout of the main modDB page sometimes. Plus, letting them use javascript is deadly.

with the current html setup they can only use specific html tags, but I vote for html to be removed completely, allowing easier posting for users who have no html background and it's easier to moderate news / comments and the like if it's all one standard with simple moddb tags instead of a variety of html and in some cases html and moddb code mixed in (like eww )

so yeh, //me waves good bye to raw html input on moddb

*me votes for full removal

UNLESS you are a staff member with appropriate rights, in which case they're enabled everywhere.

Can they be automatically nerfed and removed from the strings as well?

To me, they're a lot easier to have since I can just copy the news from my site and paste it into ModDB... but I guess spending an extra 5 minutes changing all the tags isn't so bad...

I never used HTML; only MDBCode, so it's fine for me to remove them. I believe the ModDB's code is easier and cleaner, too.

Get rid of them... modDB code is *MUCH* easier... there's really nothing HTML has to offer that we need.
