Hi there,

I am currently looking to get a start in the games industry as a character animator but unfortunately I do not have any experience working with animation for games. I was wondering if there were any modders out there that needed a new animator thats willing to learn the ropes and gain some experience doing so? Im primarily wanting to animate using the Unreal engine but at the moment any start would be a good one!

Hi Allen,

Do you have any experience working with keyframed animation based on skeletal rigs? Animation in games can often be quite different to that used in CG. Also, do you have a portfolio of work you have completed outside of games? Anything like that can go a long way.

New developments within my own team (working with Unreal 3) have led us to require a character animator in the not-so-distant future, so the opportunity is certainly there. We'll be working with an established intellectual property and a prototype for review by the IP owner and publisher.

Thanks for all the responses! didnt quite expect it!

I tried to link my portfolio pages but unfortunately because im a new member I have to wait 7 days...

dont know why i didnt put them on to start with really!
Im gonna be honest and say my rigging skills are 'novice - intermediate' at best. It was never my strong point so im not gonna pretend im a divinci in that department. My experience is with skeletal rigs created and key framed in Maya. No 3d st.max unfortunately just because I have not had the time/oppertunity to learn it!
