Post feature Report RSS Featured Content Friday 4/1/18 - Animated Vault Boy showcase

For this year's first bit of featured content, a look at the animated Vault Boy icons we'll be using in F4NV!

Posted by on

Hey F4NV fans and supporters! It's Thursday, which means its time for an early first Featured Content Friday of 2018! To start the year off right, we thought we'd showcase something from the video we released this Monday!

As the more eagle-eyed among our fanbase have noticed, each of the karma and reputation icons, as well as the individual perk icons, are now animated, bringing them in line with the ones used in Fallout 4. This incredible work, done by our 2D Art lead bigcman, is just a small selection of the incredible animated icons we'll be using in F4NV!

Aside from this, a huge thanks goes out to each and every one of you that voted for F4NV in MoTY. We're humbled by the outpouring of support we've seen, and the fact that our project managed to reach second place against some truly impressive and long-lived projects is nothing short of incredible. Thanks so much to each and every one of you!

That's it for this FCF, but tune in Monday for another weekly content update! Until next time, stay classy!

Are you guys going to combine world spaces at all? For instance will the strip be one piece instead of 2 segments?

I hope you can bring back the Skill Point System from Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Also will you add in Content that was Cut from Fallout: New Vegas?

This for example: Newvegas.nexusmods.com

Nexusmods.com

Oh boy. I'm already looking forward to hunting fiends in the outskirts of Vegas with the gunplay of Fo4.

This is incredible, I was never a fan of Fallout 4 but I am happy Bethesda made it if this is what we get.

I know this'll be far-off, but might it be possible to extend the animation to characters on flat screens, like Father Elijah in Dead Money, the scientists in Old World Blues, or the Yes Man in the base game? It seems like lip-syncing, or a semblance of it, would be a logical extension of an animated and interactive (e.g. the Pip-Boy games) Pip-Boy interface.

I am so excited to see people working on this!

After seeing this and Fallout 4: The Capital Wasteland my future got very bright.

And then I thought, is there an opportunity for people to pool their porting work? Maybe even leverage some of the great work done by the Tale of Two Wastelands team?

So I wrote this open letter: Forums.nexusmods.com

Be gentle, it's just a discussion piece :)

I hope your not adding in the settlement stuff from Fallout 4. Fallout New Vegas did not have that, and I'd FAR prefer a more pure straight forward porting over of NV to the Fallout 4 engine, rather than getting it with additions.

Or if your completely adamant about having it, then have that in a separate version of the mod so that we your user base can choose for ourselves. That's only fair.

So we get updates every few days for December, then after January 5th no news at all. What's going on?
