Mod of the Year 2007

Welcome to Mod DB and the 6th Annual Mod of the Year Awards - the definative event that showcases the best mods and indie games in the world and recognizes the teams behind them. The MOTY is a tribute to the creativity, dedication & hard work independent developers put into creating unique gaming experiences that enable us to "play something different".

Over the coming months we will showcase to you the best mods and games in the industry. You vote for those you believe are worthy of recognition. At the top of this program sits the ultimate prize, the mod of the year award won previously by Natural Selection, Red Orchestra, PoE2 and Garry's Mod. Thanks to our sponsors, this year we have a few surprises up our sleeves not to mention a slew of prizes for the participating teams.

From Dec 1st to Jan 1st, industry professionals, developers, gamers and the general public cast their votes to decide which mods define the cutting edge of interactive entertainment and which mod teams attain gaming celebrity.

Follow the links to join us on an unforgettable journey as we present the 2007 Mod of the Year.

Here at ModDB, we are always looking for an opportunity to put mods into the spotlight. So it is with great pleasure that we announce the syndication of the top 100 list of this year's Mod of the Year contest on AMD GAME! This puts the, approximately, 5 million visitors that AMD GAME! attracts in view of the top 100 with the ability to peruse the list and and vote without leaving the page. All this means more exposure and more votes for all of you who made it this year. Plus because this list will remain indefinately on the AMD site, it will be a great way for the best mods to continually attract new (casual and hardcore) gamers.

In light of this news and the delayed start on phase 2 voting, ModDB has extended the voting period to January 3rd, 2008. Good luck to all of those involved and thanks to AMD GAME! for making this the biggest Mod of the Year contest yet!

Are you a member of a successful Mod Team? Are you going to be at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this year? If you answered yes to both of these questions then Noesis Interactive wants to meet with you! Noesis Interactive works with industry giants such as Valve, IGN, Softimage, and Autodesk to expand knowledge regarding game modding and development through easy to follow video modules. We’re interested in speaking with modders and developers about their roles and experiences in order to lend insight to the rest of the Mod community. This is a great opportunity to promote both your Mod and your team. So, if you’re going to be at GDC and are interested in being involved, please respond to this message or email benm@noesisinteractive.com for more details. We hope to see you there!
