Using easy to learn drag-and-drop actions, you can create professional looking games within very little time. You can make games with backgrounds, animated graphics, music and sound effects, and even 3D games! And when you've become more experienced, there is a built-in programming language, which gives you the full flexibility of creating games with Game Maker. What is best, is the fact that Game Maker can be used free of charge.

You can do anything you want with the games you produce, you can even sell them! Also, if you register your copy of Game Maker, you can unlock extra functions, which extend the capabilities of the program. Game Maker comes preloaded with a collection of freeware images and sounds to get you started.

No programming experience is required to make even the most complex games, but there is options to use GameMakers programming language.

Yeah, I'm working on a 3D game right now. Give it a few months and it should be out. It's a sequel (The third in as series) so it should be PRETTY good.

Most of their games are Game Maker projects etc picked up by a small dev team looking to break through one day....

Yes it is possible, but like amber says is done through lots of code systems and is very limited, i would stick with the 2D system if i was you though.

Unless you find one of the libs/gex that those generous people at the GMC have made [Personally I'm biased against GM7, and I hate custom libs, so, not much choice for me but to code code code :)]

Don't knock the libraries. There's some awesome stuff out there (e.g GMPhysics).

GMPhysics isn't technically a lib [although you CAN get it in lib format] ;) But I do enjoy DLLs, especially Xtreme 3D, good fun
