Traditional classic HUD, for those that love the Health to the left and the Ammo to the Right. Also for those that love the dark, gritty and edgy style that STALKER itself offers.
___________
DESCRIPTION
___________
Old Dog HUD, ODHUD for short. OD for shorter.
A Traditional HUD for Anomaly; Player Status on the left, Weapon Status on the Right. Gritty-as-hell aspect for that extra "edge".
Made for people who prefer that design, it's not a bad one either, being traditional is fine.
Old Dog is much fancier (in a gritty way) than SidHUD while still providing enough information, if not more than.
Old Dog is also influenced by games like Condemned: Criminal Origins. Hardcore grittiness, beating even STALKER.
For more information, you can look down into "DETAILS".
For whatever purpose you downloaded the HUD, other than to steal it, I hope you enjoy it.
Big thanks to "RavenAscendant" for making the script(s) to make Old Dog functionally perfect.
___________
INSTALLATION
___________
NOTE: The mod was made with MO2/BAIN format in mind for ease of install, give that a try.
For manual install, it should be simple;
1. First and foremost, install the first file, in this case it's "00 OLD DOG MAIN FILE [INSTALL FIRST ALWAYS]", extract it to your main Anomaly file.
2. The rest are "Addons", install whichever you'd like in order.
* Check the "MODDING GUIDE" to know how to make some minor tweaks to your digression.
- Old Dog is made by components which, by default, all are enabled. If you want to disable some, just go to the options menu then UI/HUD, go to the bottom, everything should be explanatory if you hover to the text. English & Russian text available.
___________
OPTIONS/ADDONS
___________
- SCHEME VARIANT 2 [HEAVY DUTY]. Changes the rusty metal for a much more slick and darker design. Should fit better with the default Inventory/Options Menu texture.
- SCHEME VARIANT 3 [MINIMAL]. A much more smaller and transparent format and design for Old Dog.
- DIFFERENT COLOR SCHEME. (((CHOOSE ONLY ONE))) Depending which you choose:
--- [DEFAULT] [FULL BARS]. Makes it use the default color scheme and have the progress bars appear as full bars instead of squares.
--- [SHOC]. Switches progress bar colors to make it similar to "Shadow of Chernobyl"; Blue Armor, Light Red Health, Green Stamina, Yellow Psy.
--- [SHOC] [FULL BARS]. Same as above, but using full bars instead of the default squares.

PROBLEMS/TO DO
___________
X The options for Old Dog won't appear unless you're in-game. A fix for this is only possible by using RavenAscendant's MCM mod.
X Keypads will make many of Old Dog's components disappear, as well as cause other issues. This is a vanilla bug, not fixable by us.
- The HUD was tested on various 4:3 and 16:9 resolutions, such as...800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1680x1050 and 1920x1080. All work perfectly fine, but going lower than 1024x768 will cause visible stretching.
- It's recommended you don't enable "Autohide Stamina Bar".
___________
DETAILS
___________
- HP BAR.
The HP bar has been separated into 21 gauges. Full bar if using one of the DCS'.
The background has a "hint" of when the "Low Health Effect" will start kicking, this means you'll get blurry vision and move slower, using any healing item is absolutely recommended then.
The bar is darker at the end and much brighter in the start, to indicate less than 5% and more than 90% respectively.
--- RADIATION BAR. Enabled through the options menu, this will show a radiation icon with a bar beside it.
The bar itself is situated beside both the Stamina and Psy bars.
The bar will raise depending on how much radiation you have in your body, from down-to-up.
The bar is divided by colors, in accordance to the status icon itself; gray, yellow, orange and red.
- STAMINA BAR.
The Stamina bar has been separated into 21 gauges. Full bar if using one of the DCS'.
The last hint bar, which is red, indicates when you'll reach the point where you'll start to only walk due to low stamina.
The first hint bar, which is green, indicates when you can start running again after exhausting your stamina.
--- BLEEDING BAR. Enabled through the options menu, this will show a bar beside the Health bar that indicates the amount of bleeding you have.
It goes from left-to-right, the bar starts as a bright red turning into a desaturated red dark.
----- HEALTH PREDICTION BAR. Enabled through the options menu, this will show a bar beside the Health bar that indicates the amount of healing you are currently acquiring.
It is separated by "red crosses", up to 10, each indicating the percentage of health you will recover.
They are located on top and bottom of the "Bleeding Bar" itself if enabled, which is recommended to do so.
The bar goes lower when you get damaged, this is especially visible with Yadulin.
- PSY BAR.
The Psybar has been separated into 21 gauges. Full bar if using one of the DCS'.
There is nothing too special about it.
- AMMO CLIP COUNTER.
The Ammo Clip Counter has been made to have a background of its own, it has 3 small layouts for, from top-left-to-right the ammo-in-clip, firemode and underbarrel grenade counter respectively.
It also has the "Ammo Icon", a subtle darkened background is made to give better contrast.
- FIREMODE COUNTER.
This will indicate which firemode you have chosen.
- UNDERBARREL GRENADE COUNTER.
This will show how much grenades you have for the Underbarrel GL. X means you have none, you can reach as much as 99 before you break the HUD layout.
- AMMO MAGAZINE COUNTER.
This has been added and is on top of the ammo clip, from top to bottom you get from tissue-piercing to armor-piercing.
Bullets are used as icons to indicate which ammo type it is, from left-to-right.
You can reach as much as 9999 before breaking the HUD layout.
- ARMOR BAR.
The Armor bar has been separated into 21 gauges. Full bar if using one of the DCS'.
Hint bars are used to indicate the current armor percentage you have, use it as a way to know when you can use repair tools.
From right-to-left, going through yellow to red color, the hintbars indicate 85%, 75%, 65%, 50% and 10% respectively.
A text-based percentage indicator is available as an optional add, check it in the options menu.
- WEAPON CONDITION BAR.
The Weapon Condition Bar is separated by 10 bars, each properly indicating 10%, going from top-to-bottom.
The bar goes from a bright green to a desaturated darker green to indicate how broken it is.
It also has three hintbars, first one indicating it has reached 70%, this is when the weapon will start jamming.
The penultimate hintbar indicates it is at 50% and you should absolutely repair it if possible.
The last hintbar indicates it is at 10% and you can't repair it, only a Technician can.
___________
COMPATIBILITY

I would like to give thanks to "Thundervision" for making the Russian localization of the options menu.
I would like to give Big Thanks to "RavenAscendant" for taking the time to make a "Visible Armor Condition HUD Bar" script and a better way to display ammo counters, without him, we'd never have these most excellent and practical features.

CHANGELOG.
UPDATE 2
If you use Direct X 8 or 9, update immediately.
I have finally found a way to fix the ever-so annoying issue of the textures being stretched.
UPDATE 1
- New Scheme Variant added, "Scheme Variant 2 [HEAVY DUTY]".
- Fixed one of the hintbars on the "Weapon Bar" indicating at 40% instead of 50%.
- Made a much better new decorational weapon icon for the "Weapon Bar" (It's still subtle, hopefully)
F.A.Q.
"Will there be more add-ons?"
Yes, there are many plans for this HUD, different schemes and variants and all, including a slightly more "minimalist" version.
"Will there be a Minimap add-on?"
Yes, there are even plans for a minimap or two, but these will be separate instead.
"Why is there a "Minimalist" description but the file is unavailable?"
Simply because it is not. Be patient, for ****'s sake.
"I want to move the quickslot or remove it, I wanna make it bigger or smaller. I also want to move the status icons. Oh by the way, ammo icon makes me cringe or something, please remove it!"
No, do this all yourself, there is a "MODDING GUIDE" file included for a reason.
If you are unwilling to get your own hands dirty, then we have the privilege to treat you unfairly too.

Hmm yes, this is a HUD.
Looks Like Hard Work & Good Effort.
Looks Really Nice! Mr. Strongglet15 .
Dropping a Rating/Like definitely !
This is really nice, thank you.
The SOC version looks great.
*chefs kiss*
will this mod work with RavenAscendant's Battery Warning mod? Moddb.com
Of course it will, never doubt that any of Blackgrowl's HUDs won't be compatible with Raven's mods.
Thanks for the addon old man ;)
Here is would and interface inventory and camping on D. Under this hud retexture
Loving the HUD, but can you make the metal background more grayish-black so that it matches Anomaly inventory/settings menu? (Keep the texturing if possible. Just instead of brown, make it black)
That's my only complaint, is the mismatch between the Hud and the inventory.
There is a Scheme Variant 2 planned, called "Heavy Duty", it will replace the metallic textures with something more slick and dark, similar to what the inventory menu has.
I'm getting early Fallouts vibes here...
really nice
one hud to rule them all
loving the new heavy duty style
Dark mode one is slick!
Just one question, Is there a bleeding bar? because I have one HUD that has it and it is very useful. VODIS is the name of that mod.
However, I HAVE to say it, this looks sooooo cool and I want to use your version, but I would love to have a bleeding bar just like VODIS.
Yes, Old Dog HUD has a bleeding bar, you can read about it in the "DETAILS" tab of the description.
But to keep it short; it appears as a small bar next to the health bar that goes from left-to-right, starting as bright blood to a dark desaturated blood.
Well, I guess I have a new HUD. thanks bro, really cool work.
Finally a HUD that actually looks and feels like a standard stalker HUD. I always hated how everything floats in anomaly's HUD.
Can you make a color scheme where Health is red, stamina is blue, and psy is yellow?
So a Call of Pripyat or original Anomaly scheme, sure.
Great HUD, pretty much exactly what I was looking for, but I'm noticing a minor issue where, when the stamina bar is full (or damn close to it), it loses the entire coloured bar and is just the little cells behind it.
That's because you have "Autohide Stamina Bar" enabled, this is mentioned in the "PROBLEMS" tab in the description.
Disable it in UI/HUD options.
Damn, I looked all over that readme and still missed you mentioning it, oops. It's also kinda odd, because I don't remember having enabled the option to begin with. But hey, now I know. Thanks.
How do I remove the F1 F2 F3 F4 icons?
Read the "MODDING GUIDE".
love this hud thank you so much can you make a smaller version of soc theme maybe ?
The upcoming "Minimalist" edition might be what you want.
Love the hud!
But I have a small problem, not sure if it's the mod fault or not.
When using a binocular, the hud isn't completely hidden, only some parts of it.
Edit: When using other model of binocular the hud hides completely. But noticed that the hud also doesn't hide completely when the confirm window appears when changing maps.
The binoculars issue is most surely caused because you are using binoculars from a mod, BaS or something, I have no idea if they have their own models.
Anyway, they must be badly configured because the default vanilla binoculars hide the HUD just fine.
As for the rest, known issue, will be fixed when we figure out how.
Ah I see. Well, it's just a small problem, nothing game breaking, so I'll keep using the mod. Thanks again for making it!
this is so cool! thank you for making this. is it possible that you also could make an inventory styled old dag skin? i love the SOC feel i get from this.
That can be planned, but won't be worked with for a long time unfortunately.
Is it compotable with [1.6.2] Grok's Body Health System Redux for 1.5.1 ?
As long as you use the "Basic" version, it should be.
Unfortunately old dog UI overlap UI elements from Grok's Body Health System Redux.
Is it possible to turn off the ammo box entirely without config lines/graphics? I'm using the Ammo Check mod and would like to still use that functionality.
Edit: ended up modifying the maingame_16.xml and deleting the ammo box in Background.dds and it works great.
Nope, you must change config files and delete parts of the graphics if you want to do that.
I put a guide on how to remove the ammo counter by changing it through configs.
If you really can't do any of that, I'd suggest you try "SidHUD Minimal Version" instead.
Strogglet15 lol yup, ended up editing my comment right when you posted. Thanks again bro
how do remove the armor condition and weapon condition because those two things are making me uncomfortable (i hope you can understand because i have bad english)
They are in the options menu, Settings-UI/HUD or the Mod Configuration Menu if you use AMCM.
Very nice, it's the one I use! Thanks a lot!
This is my favorite HUD. Fingers crossed for the minimap and inventory screens get the same treatment! Keep up the awesome mods :D
There is one for the minimap, it's called SquareDOV: Moddb.com
Though if you want a circular variant, you'll have to wait a bit longer.
My only complaint so far is the companion window overlapping on the right side.
Weird, it doesn't for me. Are you running on a resolution lower than 16:9?
Yea my resolution is all sorts of weird so it's probably a me thing. Would it be an easy value change somewhere in the files? If not i will just deal cause it's not unbearable and i love this HUD. It's 1280x720
Darn, sorry, I forgot to answer after all this time. Moddb really needs a "comment notification" feature.
Anyway, changing the companion position is your way, but I forgot how to do it, I don't even remember if it's possible to.
If you are up for it, ask RavenAscendant, give him a PM in here, he won't mind.
Old post necro, I know. But, companion panel position is defined in the ui_hud.xml file. For example:
<companion_list x="10" y="-200" width="90" height="606" stretch="1">
...will move the panel up under the minimap.
