Adjusted faction relations to be as close as possible to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. wiki and to provide interesting gameplay no matter which faction you join. Zombies are now hostile to everyone, including Monolith. (They're zombies after all, and brainzz are brainzz). Compatible with CoC 1.4.22
Good
Clear sky hates freedom , first time i see this
(buried)
Clear Sky consists mostly of autistic virgin neckbeard "intellectuals" with kalashnikovs and M16's. Just like in high school, the class "intellectual" hated Chad because Chad did nothing all day long except **** the hottest chicks in the school and smoke weed. Freedom is that Chad from highschool, but this time Chad has an LR300.
The only one with autism here is you.
I like his autism.

Spotted the necbeard
Why everyone hating on you?
memes are strong with this one
This is honestly hilarious

the virgin Ecologist vs the chad Clear Sky
It's not so much that Clear Sky hates Freedom, more the other way around. Clear Sky has a lot of scientists, Freedom wants scientists out of the Zone, so Clear Sky's gotta go.
nah clear sky believes people getting in the zone is bad because they are takking artifacts and messing with the zones, freedom want's the zone open for everyone to come and to not keep people in the dark about things happening in the zones, what the millatary and the ecologist want to keep to themselves.
It's a way for introduce some changes. If not, Clear Sky have de same relations than STALKERs.
Its more that Freedom hates clear sky. Because clear sky wants to study the zone and find the cause of it and revert it. Because its constantly spreading and could be a treat to the world.
Freedom see's that as wrong because they think we should just leave the zone alone and let it be. Co-exist with it and let tourists wander the zone and see it.
So its mostly due to this
Technically... lore-wise.. Freedom should be neutral to both Scientists and Clear Sky.
From the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. wiki:
"Freedom believes that the Zone is a wonder given to all humanity. They are hostile to the ecologists exploiting the Zone for research. They openly oppose the Military, and their long-time rivals, Duty. The only interest of Freedom is to live and open the Zone as a museum for people outside of Chernobyl. Freedom believes that if ecologists leave the Zone from scientific research, the zone will act friendly and peacefully."
This is why Freedom is hostile to Ecologists. Clear Sky is a grey area since they're so mysterious. My basis for making Freedom hostile to Clear Sky is that they are made up of researchers, which would put them in the same light as the Ecologists.
Then the wiki has issues and I need to edit it again.
Remember Call of Pripyat? Freedom REALLY wanted to guard the scientist bunker. And that is in gameplay.
In SoC it seems more like a left off unbalanced feature IMHO, since Freedom are never on the same map as the Ecologists.
In SoC/wild territory entrance, Mercenary are here to shoot down the ecologist heli. But in build, Freedom members was here.
So, Freedom don't like Ecologist as they hate Duty or Military.
If I remember, Lebedev had links with X-Lab and C-cons (Gauss Rifle project or documents in CoP, not sure). And Clear Sky is a secret faction. We can imagine they killed each stalkers who find them in Marsh to keep their secret location and existence.
But everything is possible. CoC is not related to SoC, Cs, CoP or builds. You can edit files as you want, create your own zone with your own relationship.
IMHO you have it the wrong way around. I think SoC is a lot more representative of the actual lore than any of the sequels that base relations more on gameplay compromises (in Call of Pripyat Freedom and Duty are essentially the same faction with a different name.). Freedom originally being hostile to Ecologists and neutral to bandits makes perfect sense. They're anarchists who hate the government. The Ecologists are a part of that government.
Ecologist are researching the zone for the benefit of humanity so its kind of oxymoronic to say the least but everyone has different views on it i guess. Freedom and ecologist work hand in hand in my opinion.
Ecologists are also suggested to be working to control the zone for governmental use. That's pretty amoral.
Science is made up by jewish global elites NWO, thats why freedom is fighting them. They smoke weed because it helps against chemtrails and mindcontrol...
Freedom neutral to bandits, sad
BANDITS CHEEKI BREEKI WITH POTHEAD
SHASLIK AND KOMPOT FOR ALL!
OY BLIN CYKA BLYAT.
In the lore, freedom were as hostile to bandits as duty.
They were made neutral (at least from the players perspective) to bandits so that a bandit player can choose Freedom after a Bandit campaign :P
nice
I like the Cop relations with military neutral to loners ... I think military should be neutral to everyone besides mercs and bandits... they cordoned the whole area... since they dont recieve too much support from the outside, they kind of need to survive in the zone too ...
I remember in SHoC they were hostile on the map, but you could still speak to them untill you sneaked across the bridge in cordon without paying them...
In CoP the military's presence was extremely small. They were weak, and the Loners were the only reason they survived to escape Pripyat.
I think in CoC they're a much more powerful, organized, and supplied faction, so they've returned to their original mission.
Thanks for this addon, I was tired of Mercs being neutral to Loners :D
In the faction selection menu freedom is still neutral to ecologists.
Yeah, I never figured out why that was. The actual in-game relations are what my chart shows though.
Thanks for the quick answer. Btw, is this addon really a must-have if I use your more tasks addon?
Not a "must have" in the sense it won't work without it. The only issue you may encounter is ocasionally being tasked to kill a faction member you are friendly with, or missing out on a few tasks, depending on which faction relations you use. Like I said, it's recommended for best experience, but not required.
Heh, just found the problem. I'll have an update soon.
Updated to ver 1.1
No major changes, just fixed the above issue.
Nice, thanks for the fix.
I like these changes, but is there a way to make all factions neutral in safe zones like the Skadovsk or Yanov Station? With the different factions only engaging in combat outside these safe areas. I remember a while back playing this mod and waltzing into Yanov Station as a Duty player and the minute I stepped inside a gunfight broke out.
Also, is there a way to mark any people like Loki and Shulga and any other Faction leaders and traders in the different areas as a trader rather than their supporting faction (like in Shadow of Chernobyl) so that regardless of their "public" faction they won't attack you and will still talk to you, trade with you, offer you jobs etc.
I would also like something that makes the helicopter leave if you enter a faction base/safe zone. It's really frustrating if the helicopter in cordon camps and shoots on rookie village and the stalkers in the village don't care at all.
I believe there was a mod that did the "everyone is neutral in a safe zone" thing called "The Faction War". No idea what magic the devs did to make it work, but it's definitely possible.
To ask my own question: Would it be possible to make random Mercenary squads neutral/hostile, or is the faction simply given a "hostile to everything" or "neutral to everything" value? I'd personally like it if mercenaries were a mixed bag as I assume they would be, especially after meeting the one squad in Call of Pripyat that won't fire on you so long as you respect their space, and let you explore their small little base if you bring 'em food.
It already occurs around Yanov and Zaton, sometimes I would bump into neutral bandits when playing a a loner. There is also a slight chance of finding hostile mercenaries near the Ranger station even when playing as merc
Will this mod be updated in the next CoC update?
Last time I checked Mercenaries should be hostile to Ecologists and neutral to Bandit faction. As for the zombies and Monolith I know that zombies ignore them in SoC and CoP.

Version 1.2 updated for CoC 1.3.20
Thank you Doc! ;)
Two suggestions based on the previous games and on the Wikia/lore.
1. Military should be neutral to Loners and vice-versa. The Military is known to trade with Loners and often give out rewards for artefact delivery.
2. Military should be allied with Ecologists and vice-versa. The Ecologists are in the Zone under the Ukrainian Government and are co-funded by certain global research foundations. The two should help one another out and not just be neutral.
I agree to this and I would add that Military should also be neutral to Clear Sky, since they are loners interested in studying the zone
Did you play Clear Sky? The military are probably your main enemy.
