Description

Remember Doom 3 and there was that super shotgun in that case titled "Commander Shotgun"? Well this is that shotgun! This shotgun uses every shotgun ammo known ever. Flak, Buck, Dragons breath, Slug, and Flechette! For PB just use weapon special to toggle ammo types, and for BD just toggle a button for ammo switch. Yep that's right, even BD has all this ammo too! Enjoy!

IS THERE ANY RELAODING SPRITES FOR THE SHOT GUN YET AS IT USES THE ssG NORMAL RELOADING ANIMATION OTHERWISE FOR NORMAL bd
also in pcrp it seems to completly replace the SSG luck or a bug
hehe turn out i am super lucky or somthing because i had found only the commanders shot gun for 13 maps so far finnaly finding a ssg in the 14th map

Well, ever since DoomNukem made the sprites there was no need for a new reload because its like any other SSG retexture. And the gun is rather rare and randomizes its spawn pickup so its normal to take some time to find it ;) and well that is very lucky! All spawn sets should be the same for any map

For my full review:
Similar sprites used as the usual SSG only this one looks a little more...authentic. Works similar to the SSG but has a much tighter spread dealing concentrated damage whilst being able to stand further back, courtesy of the longer barrels.

Able to switch to slug which deadly at range, a make-shift sniper at that point. The flak however is not only deadly, but has a lot of bang for buck due to the Auto-shotgun costing 2 shells for 1 blast whilst this makes it 2:2.
Dual Dragons Breath + close spread is devastating, dealing critical damage if not incinerating a Baron with a single blast. (Brutal difficulty).

Along with the updated sprites, it uses vanilla for the loading to give it a unique feel. THIS is Doomguy's proper shotgun.
My only irk is its spawn chance is tiny, if not at all. (Aunmaker or example) I'd make it a 25% spawn chance for the SSG spawn and/or make the Quadshotguy have a small chance of dropping it...unless you've got something planned in future.

Speaking of spawning, the "FeelBossMK2" and the "Lighting Gun" DO infact spawn, albeit extremely rare which is fitting.
Overall, a fantastic staple weapon. Out of all your weapons, this one feels truly badass, the gibbing is insane and I love it.

On a side note: I saw a convo about another ammo type for this super shotty being mentioned and "pop-rockets" came to mind if you're familiar with RAGE. Just a suggestion.
Digressing, I kid you not, I dreamt about these guns mods.

Miniature grenades fired at high velocity from a shotgun, you could even fire them from the SSG in RAGE for twice the bang. I'd say they hit for the amount a rev missile does. Pretty awesome to use in the game. They detonate on impact.

After playing some amount of a megawad, I came across one at map 14 then a few more spawned throughout up to 21. It's such a fun weapon to use! Especially once I got Dragons Breath rounds.

The weapon is pretty good. but I think you should add an extra ammo type to make it more unique.Since we can already use all these different shotgun ammo with other shotguns.

Whats unique about this weapon is you can fire two rounds of any designated ammo at the same time and even shoot them at a faster rate than some before such as the flak shells :)

This called a flechette. They have high range,a very wide spread and less damage compared to buckshots.

hmm...i have seen this before, and someone actually try to do this with similar sized NAILS and such (in real life of course)! However ive practically seen this tend to be very wobbly and cause a keyhole effect in targets, hence which you said causing less damage to an enemy. Maybe this can be added to clear large rooms of small enemies though. I'll see what i can do :)

Maybe you can make the flechettes embed themselves onto to any surface they are shot at or just make them dissapear when they hit a wall, ceiling or floor. This will eliminated the keyhole problem.

Embedding them is the same issue but with no black gunpowder effect on the wall, and making them dissappear just means a wall effect wont be added hence not showing where the fire was shot :o so im not sure what to do

Actually the tips of bullet become sgarper because of the force at which they are shot. That's why they embed themselves in flesh. The same effect can be used for flechettes shot from a shotgun.

So just think of the flechettes as "sharper" bullets. But not sharp enough to pierce through flesh.

i know! however after reading this "Flechette ammunition indicated a high lethality at all ranges with several one shot kills at engagement ranges to 100 yards, flechettes were prefered by combatants equally to 00 buckshot during this test phase." im begging to differ on my thoughts on that little keyhole issue...as to if there even is one along with damage amount XD

As ive seen in texture packs and such this spriteset is used in them...Im open for suggestions on unused spritesets and if possible i'll take the vote on most suggested sprites or ideas and use that for a weapon reskin :)

Since this weapon already has the functions of the vanilla supershotty (in BDv20 at least) plus more, can we have an option that replaces, or "upgrades" the vanilla super shotgun once you pick up the commando shotgun?

Aww, you guys make it sound like keyholing is a bad thing. I used to handload my own shotshells back when i had an $80 single shot 12 gauge. Id shove whatever i could fit in shotshells to see what could happen and had some interesting results. Actual flechettes work way better than carpenter nails anx whatnot, but both keyhole and both provide decent penetration depending on the amount of powder used. The keyholing can provide a great amount of damage, and can cause grevious, if not fatal wounds on soft tissue.i prefer wax slugs or good ol' 00 buck, but if you are desperate, it will get the job done. Unlike, say the much hyped dragons breath. Its a novelty round sold cos its flashy, but has a very small chance of being fatal. Burning magnesium hurts like ****, and set my friend's yard on fire, but it doesnt do much more than that. So far, there are no cases of dragons breath killing anyone..

You are right on all that, on tons of research and all, im adding Flechettes and maybe one OTHER ammo too ;) and im suprised about no dragonshell deaths XD and ahh...shovin random **** in shells is always fun, theres a youtuber i watch who does just that and its pretty interesting! and im glad you do! thanks! XD

that my friend is a 4 bore shot also known as the elephant killer. With one shot it can slay a full grown elephant. think of it like slugs but waaay more powerful.

okay that thing could kill a cyberdemon in one shot since this gun carries two slugs, and in a gun of this fashion would cause a recoil of you hitting a wall and the gun itself to implode XD But those are indeed awesome

technically this is a rifle round, believe it or not. during the 19th century people used Double barreled rifles that would shoot these. They were much more powerful than bolt action rifle and actually have a much lower level of recoil than you think.
Also it has a lot of range. I mean you could kill a elephant that is 1000 meters away with this thing!

From what I know they didn't use stands. It worked exactly like a double barrel shotgun just you know, insanely strong.
I learned all this from watching forgottenWeapons. They are a YouTube channel that does videos on old unique firearms.

A good example of how devastating of such a weapon would be in Doom would be Pillowblaster's Trailblazer mod. Although on a technical standpoint, the Railgun would be countless times stronger.
On a side note:
