Hello there!
We're here to say that, well... XDM continues! But more in content, rather than features.
Remember the map DM_Vault? Let's say, it wasn't meant to be complete the way it was released.

(sorry, no videos, and also youtube and goolag snatched away all of my accounts
so no more posts going to be there)

Actually, it was a part of a big single-player puzzle adventure game. A project which never came to fruition.
But now it is a huge CTF map! In a distinctive "ancient" style. It features ridable boat, open and closed locations, alternative routes, water and soothing lighting.
The only problem is, as usual, performance. Ok, it breaks down into other problems like engine limitations, clunkiness of the editor - Hammer, which loves to deform and destroy objects and the compiler which doesn't cut invisible parts ideally...

Anyway, XDM helps a lot. No code modifications were required for this map. And most effects don't affect FPS much. But... THE WATER. Half-Life water is so damn slow!! And it does not get cut properly so it's always visible behind walls!!! It drags FPS to half and the map is unplayable on my laptop.
This needs to be fixed. Somehow.
Anyway, thanks for watching! As always, I'm open to comments and suggestions.

Thanks for warm comments!
Holly shift! I didn't realise there were no thumbnail previews created for this post. Very strange. I thought they were generated automatically, AFAIR. (o_O)

Good news, my congratulations. It's nice to hear the project is still alive same as it's author.
To solve the perfomance and a lot of other issues i would recommended you to get rid of the Valve's crap and to turn your wiev to Xash direction: This engine is Gold Source compartible, more modern, has a good perfomance, extended limits, and, what is very important, it is an opensource. So there should not be a big deal to migrate your MOD to it.
Regards and keep working. I hope the new, more clever bots will appear in the next release.

Last time I tested, Xash3D provided only basic functionality of GS engine, which was insufficent for XDM to work as intended. And there's no desire for collaboration from their side too. Except for FWGS, but they were focused mostly on Android.

Allright, focus on PrimeXT project (https://github.com/SNMetamorph/PrimeXT)
I was told they are quite nice guys, open for cooperation and not so arrogant as Xash creator.
So don't hang down your arms, keep moving, keep modding - you do have a good vision and sweet taste, nowadays you just need more modern engine. And let Buddha bless your efforts!!! All the best!
