With the First Chapter Demo released, We'd like to ask for some help!

The first chapter of Through Vortal Eyes has been released, you can download it now and install it with the usual sourcemod methods, or if you don't have Half-Life 2: Episode Two and the Source SDK Base, you can watch the first chapter on YouTube!

Some things are a bit rough, but I'm mostly just proud of how far I've been able to go mostly on my own. There's things to fix, but so far the first chapter has mostly shaped up to be what I've had in my head for about a year.

If you haven't played it or watched it yet, it's quite short as of now, equivalent to Black Mesa Inbound or Point Insertion in purpose and length.


Now that the progress for the first chapter of TVE is released, I would like to extend a request for assistance.

Currently, it's really just me, Konxovar, working on the mod.

But I can't create a Half-Life mod by myself, especially one meant to have a substantial runtime.
So I'd like to ask YOU for some help, I need a few roles within development filled, obviously I can't pay you, but I'm sure I'm not the only Vortigaunt enthusiast modder on this planet.

Currently, the roles we most require are:

Weapon Programmer

This is the one we need the most currently. I have very little coding knowledge, and the vortigaunt electrical shock weapon is something that is necessary for the mod.

Level Designer

This role will be necessary for when Vitairn ventures into Black Mesa, as I would prefer not to just have Vitairn trace Freeman's footsteps to avoid level design.

Sound Designer

I have little knowledge of how sound design works in the Source Engine, with env_soundscapes and all that, so this role is necessary for areas to feel alive and such.

Creature AI Programmer

This is the least currently needed role, but at some point the Alien Grunt and perhaps other creatures will need to have AI implemented, and while it seems fine to me to reuse Combine Soldier or Metropolice AI for the Alien Grunt, I don't know how to go about that.

Texture Artist

A texture artist for props, settings, creatures. If you can do all of these things, or just one of these things particularly well, contact me.
