Hello, everyone!
This had been a very long journey for us. For almost eight years we making this project, which become more than just a routine for us. The Elder Scrolls: Total War is a huge part of our life and a great development experience. We started this mod with zero experience and achieved a lot of skills in 3d and 2d modelling, scripting and other.
And now this project is at final stage of development. 2.0 is coming, and, as we said, it will be the last huge update for The Elder Scrolls: Total War, and maybe biggest, since release of 1.0 itself. Of course, we will continue collect feedback to improve it with minor patches and fixes after the major release, to make TESTW 2.0 as stable as possible, but these patches will contain mostly balance corrections and bug fixes.

Will you guys delve into other projects after this or retire from Medieval 2?
Maybe we'll start something new, but it definitely will not be Medieval 2 mod.
Mount & Blade Bannerlord would be good perhaps. Several on my team are also wanting to do a project for it when modding tools are released or developed with the full release.

Skyrim Civil War 2, but it wasnt in a fully playable state. Tamriel Bloodlines End was removed from moddb for stealing assets i think?

In my opinion your mod is polished in so many areas it's simply outstanding. I would suggest you guys to maybe make the entire map custom in terms of settlements?
Otherwise there isn't much improvement to be done at all :).
If you like cheating AI, garrison scripts (where the defender get to keep their spawned units if they win the battle), OP "unique generals", "mercenary armies" (that are in many cases better then the faction's own units), random characters being called Mannimarco for all factions among other problems.
If they make all custom settlements then the mod will become even worse. As most of the custom settlements that are not based on the vanilla layouts are very bad in terms of gameplay and fun. Certain factions like Valenwood and Redoran lack walls for their cities leaving them much worse in defensive sieges then the rest. Most of the unique settlements are bad because it boils down to who have the most heavy infantry win (Imperial City, Whiterun) or the settlement is to small (Solitude Windhelm), or have no walls (Vivec, Dagoth-ur, Scourge Barrow) making attacking archers having a field day.

Garrison scripts is huge problem on which we are working to resolve, so armies will disappear after battle, random characters names like Mannimarco and Nerevarine don't appear since version 1.5.
Custom settlements with unique layouts are scourge for every fantasy mods, but can"t be avoided. Gladly we can't (and we don"t want) make every settlements custom, because where are only 2 modders working on this project for free.
"Cheating AI" - examples please
About mercenary armies units looking better than faction units, on one hand I will take it as compliment, because we improve our modelling skills every day, and in other hand I will take it as confession that some ESO armor styles look good :)
Again, we are not good in balancing units and strategy, but more confident people help us from time to time, so I hope 2.0 balance would be much better. We are mostly artists, rather than coders or game-designers, but eight years ago we didn't even know how to make 3d models. And for that I could only say - do your own mod, if you hate ours.
P.S. Redoran has walls in every settlements except villages

Yes, I mean stats.
Random characters that have the names of the "unique" characters (Mannimarco, the Redguard pirate, Maomer king, Dawnguard, Harkon, Skaal chieftain) happen in 1.6 too because of how Medieval 2 handles names (it chooses randomly from the names in names.txt) All factions have Mannimarco in the list of male names for example. There's a way around it though Twcenter.net(and-avoiding-labels) .

And 8 years I play this mod ! I'm here from the start of this awesome mod. I'st simply the best mod for Medival TW 2 (but I like some others).
We're working on it for 8 years, but first version was released in 2015, 4 years ago, so my mind tells me that time machine will be created in next 4 years :)

I play with Skyrim faction and now the Oblivion Crisis has started and the Empire is imidiately destroyed and becomes rebel, how to fix this bug?
