The award winning Project Reality Studios and Black Sand Studio teams are proud to announce the official release of Project Reality v0.9.
After countless hours of development, thousands of code changes, an intensive testing period, and a successful "preload" early release, we are pleased to announce the general availability of Project Reality version 0.9. As Project Reality fans are already aware of, the password required to unlock the installer for the preload version is now avaliable and listed below. You can also obtain it on the official password page.

Please note that due to the size of the mod, we have split the download into two separate parts, "Part 1 of 2" and "Part 2 of 2". You will need to download and install both in order to play PR v0.9. The installer will remove any previous versions of Project Reality automatically.
New Features and Changes
If you missed our previous news post and highlight reels over that past month, Project Reality v0.9 features thousands of changes. All of these changes combined with the addition of new vehicles, weapons, maps, and factions, have helped make version 0.9 into one of our largest most featured packed releases to date and promises players the most realistic, team oriented, online gaming experience available on the PC.
For a complete, comprehensive list of all the changes and newly added features in PR v0.9, please view the following forum thread:
Project Reality Mod Support
If you encounter any problems while installing and/or playing PR, please check out the Project Reality Mod Support forum. If your problem has not already been posted by someone else, please do not hesitate to start a new thread asking for help. We will do everything we can to provide you with a solution, but we can’t do anything if you don’t ask first!
Project Reality v0.9 Manual
In order to help both new and old players learn the ropes of PR v0.9, we have updated the Project Reality Manual to cover everything included. It is highly recommended that you thoroughly read this manual, as the first few games you play may be a bit confusing, especially for players new to the Project Reality mod. Reading the manual will help you understand everything you need to do in order to succeed.
As always, the entire Project Reality Studios team would like to thank all of the supporting Battlefield 2 mod websites, server providers, and of course our dedicated community for all of their hard work and continued support. Without your combined efforts and contributions, Project Reality would not be where it is today.
We hope everyone enjoys Project Reality v0.9! See you on the battlefield!
Great WORK!!!
I had the chance to play today. Some of you may call me crazy, but I spent my day playing it :P
It is totally amazing, a must play if you have BF2. The mod has high quality in both fronts in a mod: GAME-PLAY changes and LOOKING (models, textures and sounds).
Congratulations PR TEAM, luv u s2 :P
"Download Project Reality v0.86 from ModDB" LOL !
i see they changed it to 0.9 hehe
Can one FINALLY lean in the game?
If not, such a realistic feature is surely going to be integrated, yes?
There's only so much that can be done with the BF2 engine, leaning might not be possible.
it's ether one side leaning or no iron sights. Make up you're mind witch is best.
Note: yeah one side becomes iron sights count as the second camera view on the gun witch you can only ad 2, idle and sighted
At least this is what the Dev told me.
didn't the original BF2 have leaning? Why would this feature be removed?
They removed leaning from MW2 (when it was in Modern Warfare1). Was it considered cheap tactic?
I guess some people were abusing it...
BF2 doesn't have leaning sadly
You can lean in ArmA 2 and that the most realistic game out there...
except that it sucks
I disagree, ArmA II is good for those who like realism and can tolerate the length of a real military operation.
You can lean in COD4 too, but that's got nothing to do with PR...
Leaning would be very useful in urban and CQB environments. Luckily PR2 will have that function.
this version steam BF2 support?
Yes according to the changelog.
Fan - f**king - tastic!
They need to patch it damn i keep crashing when i get off of COOP servers and go to PvP servers.. then again it could have been a corrupted file in the pre-release torrent that they were handing out earlier in the week.
Awesome! =) I like all the new content, there's a few bugs, but I'm sure those'll get worked out pretty soon anyways, awesome job guys! =)
Yeah theres a few bugs, performance and instability issues but it's kind of expected considering how much they changed and introduced this version. It'd be a nightmare testing it all.
I assume a hotfix/patch is around the corner.
Please help: Every time a server changes map, I crash. No errors no nothing, just a crash when it's done loading. Then, punkbuster was saying some **** about handshaking failed.
same happens to me but i dont get a msg from punkbuster
I don't know about the punkbuster thing, maybe try updating your PB manually. Also check if your texture setters are not set to high as there seems to be a memory issue with the maps in PR that has been around a while. Try your settings at medium and you should be able to load multiple maps without CTDing.
i crash to desktop a ton while playing this game, sometimes right when i join a server i crash or if i join a squad, get in a vehicle, or die. but i don't lag at all while in game. anyone know what all the crashes are due to?
If its not your video settings, it might be corrupted files. Try reinstalling, if that doesn't work, redownload and then reinstall.
I haven't come across them sort of crashes myself but try lowering graphics settings and resolution.
I hope there will be a 1.0 some day ^^
Guys! Now you going to right way! Gameplay become from good to awesome! All the new solutions what you are made work on full 100% I want to play PR more and more aspecially when there are a good teamplay squads on the server.
Thank you for doing such an amazing work!
PS Sorry for my eng i know what it sucks...
Project Reality restored my faith in the ability of a great mod team to supersede the the success of the original game by essentially rebuilding the entire game from the ground and fixing countless problems that would never get a budget at DICE.
Hopefully the PR team has been recognized by DICE for re-inventing the franchise for them much the way Desert Storm did for BF1942.
It sure doesnt show in Bad Company 2. There is no voip or friends browser working and you cant even see what the other 3 guys in your squad are carrying.
It was the great squad concept and ability I loved in BF2 that PR took to a whole new level. They broke the mold and made it something truly unique. Not just a great mod its a game without comparison. There are so many unprecedented things they have tried and weren't afraid fail on but only after doggedly trying to make it work.
Today slip on BF3 as perhaps a "real" PC BF franchise that will shake up the growing "tactical" shooter landscape means DICE has finally realized what a diamond in the rough this mod really is.
Not a bad deal for the EA/DICE team that offered little or no real support for the mod community to have yet another inspired game built for them.
I really hope BF3 is a PC game. BC2 has a cool destructive environment but scarcely anything else has been anything nearly as cool as the stuff in PR.
Its an acquired taste but I am glad it gets the attention it deserves.
