It's been quite a while since I, MenteR, don't write an update myself. I may not have the amazing writing skills of our storyline coordinator: Spooboy, but this update is an informative, quick update to get your fingers ready for the demo that we're preparing for you guys. And guess what? It comes this weekend.
The first demo of Opposing Force 2 is called "The Stadium Demo", and it carries the name for a reason. On this demo we focused solely on NPCs and weapons, and for this, we have made a stadium map similar to Sven-Coop's. On this map, you'll be able to spawn a bunch of HL2 and OF2 NPCs, spawn barricades, spawn props and press a button that casts the incredible Michael Bay mode, which triggers a lot of explosions throughout the stadium. All that by simplying pressing buttons all around. We'll also include of2_forest_contact, one of the Deadlock Conflict maps, which is being designed by one of our mappers, Hazard24, as a bonus. And finally, the Crossfire map for all your unecessary needs of exploding nukes and spamming NPCs.
Being completely sincere, we did not include a few weapons and NPCs. However, you can make sure that our team is working hard on them. This month only, our subversion had more than 200 revisions. Which means, estimatively 8 assignments (including models, maps, NPCs, weapons, and so on) got finished per day. So worry not, because this is not going to be our only demo. We plan on releasing a longer demo with the full weapon arsenal and the complete list of NPCs in game in one or two months.

Relaxing, wasn't it? It'll be even more relaxing for you to know that we plan on releasing full game chapters separately. That way, we don't keep you guys waiting an year for a full release, which, most of times, is full of glitches. And once all chapters are complete, we'll release the actual full game with a coop mode. Multiplayer? Who knows.

That's great to hear, MenteR. But you didn't specify which SP maps or chapters in the campaign we will be trying out for the demo. I wasn't even sure if this demo is going to be all MP maps with AI bots, since those are mentioned.
On this demo, as I mentioned, there won't be many campaign chapters. Only one map from Deadlock Conflict.

Serious question: How does the storyline of Opposing Force 2 differ from Awakenings? I am looking forward to anything dealing with Opposing Force. I liked some parts of Awakenings, but this sounds more like my type of mod.
It's different because this is a few months after the Seven Hour War. Awakening takes place 10 years after OF2.

Only on the full release, and it's not really a boot camp, more like a xen camp.
I'm really looking forward to the demo, but I have a couple questions to ask
1: Is the cremator still a planned npc?
2: What's this "stadium" map in Sven-coop?
Yeah, the cremator is a planned NPC.
2. It was a map in Sven Coop where you could spawn multiple NPCs from buttons.
