I liked the voice acting in the video, the Duke's tone fits with the darker atmosphere of the 2001 build.

Note General Graves's voice is WIP, we're still actively attempting to cast someone for the role.

We were actually considering contacting the original VA from the trailer but he unfortunately passed away 2 years ago.

Are you paying the voice actors?

None of our volunteers have asked for money. We're not opposed to paying for voice actors but we haven't reached that state yet.

Both my wife and I have voice acted before. We did most of the voices for my Crysis mod "The Mutant Factor". We would be glad to volunteer.

The voice of Duke is fantastic but the last line is a little fast I think, and the VA kinda suffers by making a higher pitch at that point.
This looks really promising tho ! And even by just being an initial showcase this is incredible! ^^

This all looks promising. The voices for Duke and the general sound great too!

I prefer the desert eagle golden. Will there be an option to change it back once the project is complete?

NPC pistols are textured black, it was like that in the leak. Duke's pistol is textured gold. We're currently experimenting with bringing back the Duke 3D pistol which would only appear in the E1M1 remake level.

I actually have a version of Duke Nukem 3D where sprite weapons are replaced with actual 3D models of weapons, i can send you the link to this Duke build if you want, you can take that pistol model from there.

We actually have the modeller for that pistol on the team and he provided it to us.

Looking forward to this one.

Since the leak, and the bundled source and mod support, I had a feeling completing the game was only a matter of when. Aside from the janky bugs and unfinished content, this masterpiece in the making already has it all. :)

I think it's a great project, but i am afraid it is just too much for one person to accomplish. Because its the same as making a new game, the game in its current state is simply about 10% finished, or even less.

We have a team of over 100 members.

The game is significantly more than 10% complete. The entire first episode is largely complete outside of some broken triggers and a lack of voice acting. The game's core gameplay loop is effectively finished it just needs some polishing. The only truly unfinished content are some of the levels, enemies and weapons aren't completed.

10% complete is closer to something like Duke Nukem 3D's 1994 prototype. DNF01 is closer to 60-ish percent complete. I'd estimate had Scott Miller given it to Digital Extremes it would've shipped in 2003. Roughly 2 years after this build (1 year for finishing its content and another for QA).

Great Projekt. I just registered beacause of this project. Can't wait for it.
When it's finished, do you plan some big box? I don't know, maybe i could be copyright problem, but maybe its already abadoned ware.
I think a lot of people would like to have an "original" big box of DNF2001 with bookleat and gimmicks.

If we considered doing something like this it'd be well after the project is completed. Due to us needing to compress the projects files down to fit on a cd

Does Jon St. John voice Duke Nukem in this game, if not who does? It would be super cool to get him to voice act Duke Nukem.

John Saint John does not voice Duke Nukem in our mod. We have approached a voice actor named Gianni to voice Duke.
