2nd article about our in development game, where we will be going over some mechanic prototypes our programmer has been working on!

Hello again, indieDB Community!


Welcome to the 2nd article about our in development game, Wings of Courage.

Today we are very excited to show you some prototypes for some of the mechanics that will be in our game!


  • Running

To run the player must be pressing the shift key, which will make the character move faster, although, once the player stops pressing it the character returns to its normal speed. To go along with this mechanic we are also working to implement a stamina/energy bar which will dictate how long the player can run for.



  • Attack

To attack enemies we’ve decided the player must click the left mouse button, doing so will display the character’s sword, each click represents one attack or in other words, continuously pressing the mouse button will simply achieve the damage for one attack and not for several of them.



  • Jumping

This is a pretty simple mechanic, found in most games, but since we’ve been working hard on it we still wish to showcase it. To jump the player must press the spacebar we’ve also added double jumps, which just need a double-press on the space bar to work.



All in all we've made some good progress!
