The open source Zircon engine ("DarkPlaces Mark V Project") is a modification DarkPlaces engine with a mouse driven menu everywhere, ALT-ENTER fullscreen/windowed switching and 88 other enhancements to support user/mapper/mod coder ease-of-use and optional conveniences for those interested in a "1996 Quake" experience. "csqc_full_width_height 1" in console when running Arcane Dimensions at this time It is hoped that some/many/all of these enhancements will eventually make it into official DarkPlaces. The Zircon engine seeks to keep full compatibility with DarkPlaces so either engine can be used interchangeably.

Description

The maps menu now shows only maps from the current gamedir. Autocomplete uses all maps. god, notarget, fly, noclip can now support explicitly setting. "god 1" or "noclip 1" turn on or "god 0" turn off. "give a 200" for give armor. TGA alpha channel revision reverted (for now?). ODE support mysteriously disappeared ... restored. A command "jack_update" will update scripts shaderlist.txt for q3map2 use with J.A.C.K and Trenchbroom convenience for Q3 mapping ... it also does some things that J.A.C.K. specifically benefits from ... more in the future.

I got rid of blocky artifacts by:

r_shadow_deferred 1

for my lower end vid card (1050) this also seems to help

r_glsl 0
r_shadowmapping_vsdct 0
r_shadow_realtime_worldcompilesvbsp 0

I can't tell any difference between these things on or off except smoother play.
