Toward the end of the war the humans struck an important blow, disabling the planetary defence systems. The planet’s remaining resistance was soon decimated by the combined earth forces. Grand alien cities fell beneath endless waves of high explosive warheads. The Strogg war machine, once a horrific and vicious enemy, was completely decimated. The remaining alien forces were beaten into submission, although small pockets of survivors cowered in the ruins -- roaches scurrying from a former feast of riches.
Texture replacement mod for Zaero for Quake 2 mission pack. Based on the texture pack by vaa4444.
I've just quick-tested the pack, and it works just fine with Yamagi. I'll see if I have missed any textures due to KMQ2's lack of support, and release an update accordingly.
Hi and thanks for the pack, much appreciated.
Also, there is a support pack for Zaero on KMQ2 with this file from KMQ2 site: Zaero support (unchanged from Beta 2): kmquake2_020_b2_zaero.zip (518 KB)
Glad you like it! And thank you for pointing me at the Zaero support patch! Somehow it went under my radars. I confirm that Zaero works fine in KMQ2 with that patch applied. Thanks again!
Thanks, good textures.
Installed:
Patch 3.24
KMQuake2 v0.20 with update 7
kmquake2_020_b3_missionpack
kmquake2_020_b2_zaero
Completely passed Zaero, everything works fine.
Thanks for the feedback and the installation guidance! This is helpful!
Tested it out with Yamagi, and the Flare Gun/Trip Mine hands seem a bit "off".
Thanks for the feedback! They were so in Zaero, I didn't add anything to them, only made an upscale. I could probably use other hand textures, but this didn't cross my mind when I was making the pack.
If you plan on updatin this pack like what vaa4444 still does, make the textures more equal to its original ones in zaero
I personally don't like the way Zaero looks, I find its textures ugly, so the intention of this pack is to make it look more like Quake 2 instead.
i forgot to answer, use the same thing you did to the boxes used in oblivion to zaero.
yours and vaa4444 project pretty much reminds me of what S3 wanted to do with Q2 Textures to present S3TC Compression format, which they did to Q3A and the high res textures were great.
