But if you really want a good pack, Buy the GoG Quake 2 Quad Damage pack, it has every single official pack for the game.

Kinda late suggestion, but i've been looking at some other upscaling models at the esrgan wiki using the image Enhancing Utility and i found 4 of them being good for upscaling from source and looking good for editing paired with 4x

the first 3 ends up good depending of the texture and the pixel shading on it
the lolypop one ends up being good for being closer to yours, and all it needs its a few edits, which i believe you probably have in mind to polish it

There is no need for that, just extract the exact zip folders into baseQ2, Rogue an xatrix folders
in the textures folder, or rename the zip files into pk2, pk3 or pkz for yamagi
There are 3 folders in the archive. Just extract them to the folder with the port you are using. If you use Yamagi, you don't need to do anything else - this port understands zip. If you are using KMQuake, you will need to go to baseq2 and rename Q2.zip in Q2.pk3, then go to xatrix and rename TR.zip to TR.pk3, and rename GZ.zip in the rogue folder to GZ.pk3. For the Q2pro port, do the same, but rename these archives to pkz.

If you mean the icons in the screenshot, I didn't draw them. They are taken from the KMQuake port (except for the health icon).

Really underrated, and the best one so far, texture pack for Q2! Although SD, all the textures feel in place and very consistent. Very good job!

I've been trying to use this on the Quake 2 Quest VR port, do you know if this works there? I see some textures as high res, but others are not.
There's a pak99 in the "baseq2" folder that it is not possible to delete (it is always recreated) I seem to recall that Quake engine games loads everything in pak files first, but if paks are extracted, the extracted folders take first priority. I wonder if this is still true.
I've never dealt with VR ports. This is the first time I've heard about this port, so I'm unlikely to be able to suggest anything.
This texture pack is beautiful but I wanted to know why the explosive barrels and ammo are not in hi res. I use kmquake, thanks.
