Originally used as transports by the Yuuzhan Vong, these massive ships have been modified through shaping to become true terror of the cosmos. Although lacking standard armament, the Slave ships were heavily armored, used their tentacles to thrash out and capture nearby ships, had multiple plasma beam projectors covering the hull which were also used for devastating orbital bombardments and had horrific death ray that could be belched out from the beast's inner bowels. These ships were crafted for the sole purpose of stripping entire planets of their population to turn into mindless slave warriors while leaving a devastating wake to that the planet may never be used again...

Something tells me these ships fire heaviest in one direction, logical conclusion. Flank it.
Alternative option, strikecraft decimate it if no anti-strikecraft weapons are present. (BTW strikecraft is a term I use to describe both fighters, bombers and such.)
Artillery ships could also suffice.
But if all these measures fail... Every man for himself!

It is true, these ships must be protected, but if they were not destroyed the damage they would cause would be catastrophic.
The death ray, a highly concentrated powerful plasma blast will be capable of crippling a star destroyer to its last bits of health. The smaller plasma projectors easily able to obliterate a small coevette in one blast. The orbital bombardment should be able to decimate a full ground base. and then there is the slave ships true role - the capture of slaves. We will be trying two things here: the first its during space battles, the slave ships will be able to capture/grab hold of enemy ships with their tentacles, and then suck out crew members via the digestive tentacles, which not only kills the target enemy ship, but also provides credit revenue for the vong (more will be explained about revenue later), and the other idea is that the slave ship can attack planets themselves, which would create huge amounts of credits to be earned. When this ship is in orbit over a vong occupied world, it will also give the ability to create implanted slave soldiers, much like how the arch hammer created the dark troopers.

Wow. This is a cool idea. Honestly, I'm not sure how you are going to get the animations right for the tentacles in space battles, but if anyone can do it, it's you guys!

this looks like a cross between two ships from babylon 5. The shadow battlecrab and the vorlon destroyer.
