The Reconnaissance duo of the NR fleet, these ships were faster than the Agave but far less protected. Still flying at a generally slower speed than most fighters, about a bit slower than a Y-Wing, the Prowler and Ferret fly in a squadron, with 1 Prowler and 3 Ferrets. Upon reaching a destination worth surveying, the squadron can become immobile while activating a cloak generator, making the vessels virtually invisible to any enemy. Upon cloaking, the vessels receive an advanced LOS (line of sight), giving them tremendous spying ability.
The Ferret, being and automated craft controlled by the Prowler has no crew, and upon destruction can explode in a massive fireball taking out any enemy fighter squadron too close. The Prowler is armed with 6 concussion missile launchers allowing it to fire deadly volleys at enemy fighter squadrons and corvettes.
Both ships lacked shields, and were weak armored, relying only on stealth and strategic positioning for survival.

idea: if the ship is hit by a strong enough Ion Cannon or loses power through other means, the ship self destructs. it would make sense, given the ships' role, and you could say that the SDM is a mechanical system that is EMP-proofed.
So many ships lately! So much to destroy! >:D
Since these ships are small and will come as a squadron, i am thinking they will not be directly buildable, but rather spawn automatically from large capital ships.
This would avoid clutter on the build bar and leave the Agave as the premier dedicated recon ship, which would be buildable.
Now, if only I had a shiny new carrier to see what this looks like....
