Commonly seen among Mon Calamari Fleets, the MC30 is the standard escort frigate of choice. Lightly armored and fast, the ship does boast powerful shield generators contained within the center of the hull, providing difficulty in destroying them. Upgraded armament since the rebellion war days, the modern variant of the MC30 features 4 dual medium turbolaser turrets of Mon Cal engineering design (longer range), 4 rapid fire laser turrets, 2 forward facing proton torpedo launchers and an internal cluster bomb launcher capable of creating a permimeter of destruction to extinguish any fighter caught too close to the ship.
Fast and deadly, these vessels are the saviors to the larger Mon Cal ships.

I think those cluster bombs were one of the most OP abilities in vanilla FoC. Too bad for the Vong.
I think that ability was one of the coolest. Not only does it give variety from things like power to weapons/shields/engines, it also looks awesome. The most OP things, however were the leech shields ability, Agressor plasma cannon and Vengeance frigate stealth and self-destruct combined... In other words pretty much the whole consortium.

Many more on the way, the Mon Calamari have an entire fleet unto themselves, which is why they were able to hold their own against the Vong while the New Republic restructured itself into the Galactic Alliance.
I always thought the rapid fire proton torpedoes were extremely OP. The Empire always felt under powered in vanilla.
It's awesome, but hate how fast it's able to spam torpedoes at all your hardpoints.
Cluster bombs are not nearly as strong as torpedoes, anti ship missiles or concussion missiles. Cluster bombs will be a defensive weapon that only cause major damage to fighters and corvettes.
The forward firing torpedo launchers will require a reload time, they are not rapid fire weapons.
This is an escort ship, it is similar in role to the Nebulon B and the Bothan Adanced Frigate. The MC30 has more firepower than a Neb B, is as fast as the BAF but it is almost twice the size. Even though it has strong protected shield generators, it is still is a big target.
We are recoding everything for the mod, nothing will be the same as original FOC ;)
