The ShaShore Frigate
During the height of the Vong war, with the formation of the Galactic Alliance and new alliances being formed, the Mon Cals began adopting core world design theories as they began to integrate with the new order. Adopting engineering philosophies from Corellia and Kuat, the new breed of GA ships began to appear, first with the MC90 and Mediator and later to many other surprises. While not the largest ship to come out of these new ship building ventures, the ShaShore was the most advanced.
The ShaShore frigate was a prototype design, rushed into production to help win the war. It featured very quick speeds and maneuverability, advanced sensors for revealing LOS well beyond a ship of its size and a more effective weapons payload. The ShaShore features 6 dual medium turbolasers, 2 forward fixed side mounted proton torpedo launchers, strong fast recharging shields, point-defense laser systems (side mounted) and a bow mounted weapons module capable of unleashing a deadly barrage of concussion missiles. The ship also featured a strong tractor beam assembly. The only shortcoming of the design was that the ship had weaker armor for a ship of its size, but the 2 hanger bays holding 2 squadrons of fighters allows for the needed extra protection.

The Galactic Alliance was formed after the fall or Coruscant, with Cal Omas fleeing to Dac to begin a new government with the heroes of the New Republic.

So, as the books state, the New Republic ended with the fall of Coruscant once Borsk Fey'lya. When Coruscant fell, a corrupt group of politicians attempted to assume leadership, but the leaders of the New Republic military forces refused to support their false inheritance, instead supporting Cal Omas and safely delivering him to Dac for protection. With no central government, many planets began to close their borders and begin self governance. The Militaly Leaders proclaimed the creation of a Galactic Alliance, and this began the task of reaching out and attempting to recruit all the worlds of the to join them in fighting back the Vong.
These seem a little out of place, considering they were pretty much stock ships in the alliance fleet 100 years later. One of the Star Destroyers, Right to Rule I believe, that was used by Pellaeon as his flagship and was the oldest in the Imperial Fleet, even though, assuming it was one of the first Imperial I Star Destroyers built, it was only 50 years old. Imperial I's were replaced by Imperial II's about 20 years later. I'm just saying 100 years is a little long for a ship class to be in standard use by a major military, even assuming it was only prototyped a century before.
One must remember, the galaxy was destroyed by the Vong. Everything lay in ruin. Governments collapsed, planets destroyed and ravaged, plus all the feuding afterwards by zealous independents and warlords.
The galaxy needed 100 years to heal.
Well...not only ISDs and ShaShore are old, Hammerhead-class Cruiser is much older then them...It had been already used for over 3000 years since the Jedi Civil War,even in Galactic Civil War, Rebels, Pirates and some local fleets used Hammerhead as well....
Durasteel is an incredible alloy...
They've been using it for quite a while... so perhaps that's why Galactic history doesn't go beyond 140ABY - all the fighting just stopped because they just ran out of Durasteel... LOL :D
And don't forget the Dreadnaught Cruisers, those were used for over 100 years as well.
Not only are ShaShores canonically proven to exist during the vong war, check wookieepedia, but the Imperial-class is still used by the remnant and GA during the fate of the jedi series, which would be over 60 years after their introductuon. It still seems to be the most prominent ship in the Imperial navy.
There's no reason to think that ShaShore couldn't enjoy such longevity, particularly if it is updated as regularly as, say the X-wing.
