Keshel - Class Mining Barge image - Yuuzhan Vong at War mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption

Employed by the Hutt Cartel for their asteroid mining operations, the Keshel Barge features a turreted mining laser with gripper arms for grasping onto asteroids. A long extended extraction tube sucks in asteroid ore where it is ground up and stored in the disk shaped cargo hold of the ship. The Keshel allows the Hutts to achieve a higher credit yield from destroying asteroids and derelict ship hulks found amongst the battlefield.
The ship is unarmed, but it can set its reactors to self destruct to sacrifice itself in order to damage nearby ships.

So another fantastic model by Revan. His skills are greatly improving with every model he makes. This ship will be buildable by the Hutts only, and will allow them to earn extra credits in order to compete with the vast economy of the New Republic.

That was our inspiration. We wanted the ship to be a little larger, and that is why the mining turret is a bit smaller. The Turret will have a cutting laser, and it can be imagined that the robot arms are for helping to guide rock debris into the vacuum appendage. The front tube would be used for docking to a space station and transferring processed ore into a refinery.
We will give the ship the ability to fire the cutting laser as a weapon, and it will be given a self destruct ability.
How effective will the laser be?

Couldn't you use the mining laser to bore a hole into an enemy ship, and then the extractor to suck the atmosphere out of them?

Air leaves due to decompression, you don't need a specific extractor.
I know you wouldn't need one, but this would also possibly rupture bulkheads and other safeguards meant to keep atmosphere in.
You could add a small planet income bonus for this and other mining vessels.

A friend just got Empire at War gold pack and I'm introducing him to mods and this one...it's just so massive and so awesome I had no idea how to convey it other than shaking his laptop in front of his face with this on the screen, saying,"FOLLOW THIS MOD!!!"
