The Canderous-class Siege Tank
Developed in secret during the rise of the Consortium for Tyber Zann, the Canderous was originally developed to break through Imperial and Rebel fortress defenses. The secret trade agreement of producing the Canderous proved very lucrative for Mandalore, allowing future technological upgrades and designs such as the Annihilator and Sweeper tanks.
The Canderous is not necessarily a tank, as it was designed to be more of a seige unit. Speeds were grossly exaggerated by the Consortium forces to spread fear in to the hearts of the enemy, for the Canderous was actually a relatively slow moving repulsor craft. Its armor was as thick as an ATAT however, and armed with two rapid firing Mass Driver auto cannons proved devastating against any ground structure or slow moving aerial unit thanks to some very sophisticated targeting systems (upgrade from Tyber's version). The Candrous also featured a special ability to barrage an area with its dual front pylon mounted concussion missile batteries. The proved quite effective against defensive walls and masses of oncoming infantry hordes, but this special attack did take some time to reload.

Rivaling the T4B for battlefield supremacy, the Canderous was easy prey for infantry attacks due to its concussion missile battery being forward fixed and having a long reload time. The T4B however was susceptible to aircraft attacks yet better defended against infantry.
Head to head, the Candrous had stronger armor, but was slower than the T4B. The T4B had strong sheields, but they could only hold up for so long against the devastating damage of the Canderous' auto mass drivers.

They were indeed grossly OP, as were grenadiers, merc. assault troopers, MALs, cloaking transports, MZ8s, rancor-riding nightsisters, mass driver turrets, proton torpedo turrets, IG88, urai fen, Tyber Zann, Bossk, starvipers, blastboats, crusader gunships, interceptor IV frigates, Vengeance frigates, Keldabe battleships, Aggressor class destroyers, diamond boron missile turrets and consortium space stations.
I sense a pattern...

Will mass drivers break through sheilds?
No, but they will weaken them more than laser weaponry.
Lasers and magma damage metal more than mass drivers.
Lasers damage coral more than mass drivers.
Wait Mass drivers no pierce shields... cry cry cry
But energy shields and particle shields are different, so unless the target has particle shields the mass drivers will go straight through the energy shield unaffected. Or at least that was my understanding
There is a long and complicated debate about particle shields and Ray shields. To simplify everything, we are just saying this is in the future, and both shield technologies have now been combined.
