MC85 Battleship
Powered by 4 mammoth engines, this behemoth lumbers into battle and unleashes pure hell to its enemies. Bristling with weaponry from every corner, the MC85 is the Mon Cal's main line battleship. Heavily armored and armed with 4 heavy ion turrets, 4 heavy triple barreled long range turbo turrets, 8 dual barreled heavy beam laser turrets, 17 dual heavy turbo laser turrets and an assortment of light and medium turbo and ions hidden in gun blisters - this ship is the big brawler of the Calamarian fleets. Despite having a slower speed, the strong armor, durable shield generators and 2 hanger bays provide ample protection for this ship.

Longer than an Imperial Allegiance Star Destroyer, the MC85 would be the equivalent. The "big boys" of the Mon Cal fleet have finally started to arrive...

Wow, unbelievable! In fact I don't really like the Mon Calamarian ships as much as the Imperial ships but those highly detailed models you've shown us let me get used to them. Great work!
Oh great. Like the Vong don´t have enough reasons to hate everything mechanic ;)Let´s build even bigger ships than before and put a hell lot of more weapons in it. They will love it :)

Is this the largest Mon Cal vessal or are we going to see a bigger MC90 or something?
Most likely they might have the Mediator-class and Viscount-class
well the viscount is nearly 16 to 17 km long
This is the largest Mon Cal ship, before they adopted the New Republic's modernization program.
More will be explained with the new ships ;)

Wasn't insultive, posted the first comment before I saw the ship, and this because I was genuienly sad that it wasn't something I was hoping for. Nice ship though, turret placement looks good.

is this the Home One-sub-class?
No, this is a unique battleship class. We have a very good model for the home one made by EJ, but at this point in the sw timeline, the homeone class was decommissioned and no other ships of that line were in use.
Sad, it's a very good model, but we have other surprises.... ;)

an idea occurs: taking the older, decommissioned ships like the MC80's and re-equipping them as support ships such as Heavy Carriers, Repair ships, etc.
in theory, you could downgrade the armaments to MC-40 levels, and in the case of a Liberty class MC80, figure you could more than double the fighter capacity (fewer guns mean fewer gun crews, fewer spare parts for the guns and related systems, as well as a less stressed reactor. more modern components would likely be physically smaller, allowing for a more efficient use of internal space...) and still have a potent cruiser/carrier hybrid
Well actually, Home One line star cruisers were converted into carrier role and patrol, guard space around Mon Calamari during the Yuuzhan Vong War...Maybe u can consider making them into carriers with stronger shielding...

still wont send it anywhere without the point defense ships. on a side note, how bout something that basically amounts to a massive Lancer?
like, taking a Strike Cruiser and refitting it for similar roles as a Lancer, keeping the 20 Quad Lasers from the Lancer, maybe a few of the Turbos from the Strike Cruiser, and perhaps a squadron of fighters, but having a stronger hull/shields, with a more powerful engine suite capable of having a faster ship than the Lancer.
We have something like that coming very soon ;)
