A faithful repackaging of White Day (2001), official version 1.18, with added features & compatibility for new versions of Windows, an improved translation, and more.

This project continues & greatly improves from older localisations (16.3 etc).

I love White Day (2001). It was way ahead of its time and deserves more recognition. Although a remake was released in 2017, the original White Day is a very different experience. In many ways I think it's creepier, with its strange presentation and retro atmosphere. My goal with this project is to create the definitive version of the game, while remaining faithful to the original experience.

Be warned, despite the fixes, this game can still be buggy. I'm doing my best to mitigate compatibility issues and bugs where I can, but even Korean players experienced some of the same problems back then as we do now. Some of it is just coded that way, and unfortunately no one other than Sonnori has full access to all of the game's underlying code.

Nevertheless, feel free to let me know what works and what doesn't. I may be able to do something about it.

By the way, if you want to play White Day in the original, unmodified Korean, you can do that with this package as well. Just go to the custom launcher (wdlaunch.exe) and select Korean.

If you want the most authentic experience, I also recommend playing the game in a 4:3 aspect ratio! (This means a resolution like 1280x960). This is because White Day was designed with square monitors in mind, and doesn't handle widescreen very well.

Finally, please bear in mind that this is a side project for me, and I'm only one person, so progress will be slow. Thanks for your patience.

Hello, I need to install a Spanish translation of White Day, because I don't speak English, in fact I wrote this with Google Translator haha, but well...the translation I want to install is only compatible with version 17.0, I need that version.

Greetings from Argentina.

Hi there. I can confirm this is version 17.0. That was the old naming system I had for my previous English versions (15.0, 15.4, 16.3, 17.0, etc.) which I changed because I started from scratch. But rest assured this is 17.0, so it should be compatible.

I'll also provide this reply in Spanish using a translator. Hopefully it helps:
"Hola. Puedo confirmar que esta es la versión 17.0. Ese era el antiguo sistema de nombres que tenía para mis versiones anteriores en inglés (15.0, 15.4, 16.3, 17.0, etc.) que cambié porque empecé desde cero. Pero ten la seguridad de que esta es la 17.0, así que debería ser compatible."

Let me know if you have any further questions or need any help!

Is it possible to use dgVoodoo2 on this to improve the graphics and resolution without breaking your changes?

Nvm, I tried it, dgVoodoo2 works with your version luckily!

Really nice job!
The game is now finally playable for me!
One suggestion though, it may be better to use relative paths in dxwnd.ini, as this will allow 'DxWnd' to also work for people who don't install to the default folder.

I own White Day Remake on Steam, so this repackaging could be the best way for me to compare and contrast.
